  1. Except for Barry. Sounds like a plumber.
  2. No you wouldn’t. If we’d have got beat 4 you’d have been on here giving the team a round of you-know-whats.
  3. West Ham are a really good side. Really good. I don’t know how you can compare us with them right now. We play an open attacking style against the top 3 and we get either get thraped, or we get lucky not to be thraped. We conceded possession against City, and they hammered us for 30 mins, but got nothing from our defence. It is a reasonable way to play against the top sides.
  4. I’m not concerned. If we win games I couldn’t give a toss at the moment. We have not got the players for tiki taka, or posession based football really. If anything that gives me more confidence in Gerrard as a manager, as it shows that in the short term has adapted to the players at his disposal at the expense of his preferred style. If we’re still playing like that in a year then perhaps we can ask questions, but results did Smith in, and they would do SG in too. He knows this, and short term focus is on league position, as it should be.
  5. You mean 2x Tommy Elphicks? Unless Tommy goes by the name Groot these days.
  6. I’m just showing off with the laughing emoji. If it’s any consolation I think you’ll wallop us in the upcoming game.
  7. Guess it was the Wolves game then, sorry.
  8. Whilst their recent history has been less than stellar, I feel a little bit more respect should be paid to Ipswich as a club if i’m honest. They are one of only 23 clubs that have won the English league.
  9. I saw that and whilst you ultimately overpowered Wolves, the first 20 mins was how I think (if there is ultimately any real way) Liverpool can be rattled. The high energy press kind of got to them a bit. Once Wolves conceded it was game over, but they had a few chances early doors. Edit. actually it might have been the Everton game. I can't remember tbf.
  10. Nice problem to have, this isn’t it? We have options in terms of selection and possible impact subs. Squad innit.
  11. Well Ramsey is the obvious surprise. Wonder if that means a formation tweak?
  12. Ah, we’re counting pleading as foreplay? 6 weeks for me (i’m that good!)
  13. He’s probably come in thinking he could hold the ball up and bring our other forwards into play, hence why he was on the bench for the first game. Now he’s seen Ollie up close and realises he can do just that, like how he did against city.
  14. Steady, he's not the f**king terminator. This all sounds a bit like religious rapture to me.
  15. I think What SG has done in his time so far (at least as far as I am concerned) is dispelled the notion of him being a vanity manager, although this has been as much down to his off-field conduct, as the football itself. Do I think we’ve improved in the short term? Yes. Do I think there is enough data to suggest a long term trend? No, not after 3 games, but he’s certainly impressed me so far.
  16. Pass and move, it’s the Liverpool groove.
  17. See, my initial thought was that it is similar to Klopp and Liverpool, so I checked out Liverpool's possession stats, and they are the second highest in the league, behind Man City. Which burst my bubble a bit cos I always thought of them as a counter attacking side.
  18. Indeed. One of the most interesting things for me was that he looked so much more confident and assertive in the interview. It is even more clear to me now how nervous he was just after his appointment. He seems to have settled down now, and he talked a lot of sense I thought. Especially liked how he dealt with Chuk's horror miss. With all this talk of strictness and abstinence I thought it was good how SG cut him some slack and mentioned how he believed in his ability. It would have been exactly what I would have wanted to hear if I had missed that chance to put us level.
  19. Very close MOTM for me between Watkins and Luiz. I went for Ollie, but I thought both were excellent, and I must say I prefer Doug a bit further forward and able to dictate play. Watkins held the line superbly, and it was a great finish. Also credit again to Young, whose just oozes commitment and guile. He's going to have been a great signing this year, and hope he's got one or two more in him.
  20. Yeah, first 20 minutes was like having root canal surgery.
  21. Creditable. Very creditable. First half they ran absolute rings round us, but great second half response. A draw would not have been unfair.
