  1. Well regardless of the outcome he could still be President of the USA.
  2. If at all possible I would like to avoid the conversation with my son about why the opposition fans are chanting about one of our players going to jail for touching up women. Really not looking forward to that discussion if i’m honest.
  3. You are right, but the problem I have with massive egos, even if it is kept from being toxic in the dressing room, is this: how do you learn from mistakes if you are adamant you don’t make any? And everyone does.
  4. Didn’t know much about Bissouma’s off field antics, I must admit, but reading up on him this morning, he does come across as a right twunt. Top footballer, no doubt but a right twatgoblin. Who, when asked who they think is the best player in the Premier League, a league containing De Bruyne et al, earnestly says ‘me’. He’s not even trying to not be a cock.
  5. Is it the metric tonne of columbia’s finest in his garage?
  6. Didn’t the video say his weaknesses are tackling and crossing. Sounds familiar.
  7. Hope so. I’d break the bank. He’s exactly..EXACTLY what we need.
  8. This kind of feels like the Ginola signing of old.
  9. Building for the future is all well and good, but if the fans turn after a run of bad results, and the manager is ousted, I wonder what appetite either the current manager or the fans have to put long term building blocks in place. Fans cannot abide short term failure even if it brings long term results. That’s football. Or at least that’s Villa.
  10. Didn’t get to see the game unfortunately, but that pattern smacks of tiredness. Did we come out of the blocks too quick?
  11. The Man U job is like opening the Ark of the Covenant if you’re a nazi.
  12. Is he that desperate for his team to get a hiding?
  13. I read somewhere that under ffp we only have 5m to spend in Jan, which I must admit sounds like hogwash given the Grealish sale. Article had us second to last only above Everton. I’ll try and dig out the link later when I can.
  14. BBC have team news, where is the source that it’s off? Breaking?
  15. If you put it in context, yes. But you don't, ever, because you don't seem to factor the form of opposition, overall objective (i.e. getting a result by any means necessary), the constraints of our existing team, the time our manager has been with the team.... the list goes on. From what I see, you seem to solely take into consideration the name of the opposition, and a perceived estimate of whether we should be beating them based on the stature of that name in world football (hence the recent West Ham quotes). You mentioned yesterday that you expect us to be beating teams in mid table and relegation places (again on what basis?). Taking 8th down as mid table, which people have subsequently been using in the Leicester debate, this would mean (even if we got zero draws) a points total of 72 pts, which based on the last three years league tables would put us 3rd and in the Champions League. The criticism and expectations presented, both on a game by game basis, and on the achievements of the season as a whole are just totally unrealistic.
  16. 1000% Still makes my blood boil when I see it.
  17. I get that, and I respect your pov, I do think there will and should be a time when we dissect our response and consider how we, and those in charge could have done better. That said, I tuned in to the press conference hoping to hear from two of the foremost medical experts in the country about how the hell we are gonna tackle Omicron, and 95% of press questions were about investigating a Christmas party a year ago. Annoyed me slightly.
  18. Like Dean, who lost his Dad to it!
