  1. I like your optimism, and indeed those signings are great, but the problems we had controlling the game, liberating the ball and actually getting it to the world class front 3 at the start of the season are still there. You could have Messi up front but if the b***ard doesn’t touch the ball all game he may as well be Hogan. It’s a fundamental cog in the machine that’s missing, and we don’t get Marv back until, what, late March? Luiz will do his best (if he’s here), and it will be ok, but unless we sort this we will have half a team’s worth of wasted potential.
  2. I’m more than happy with the signings we have made, but…. I must say I would be astonished if we didn’t pick up a DM today. If not it would be the third window where our most significant and damaging weakness has not been addressed. Without a quality player at DM it strangles our forward play and exposes our back line. It means against good teams we are second best in the middle of the park. Add onto that the fact that Marv has been injured, and it’s baffling. Unless Chambers was bought as a DM not a CB. Honestly I would have sacrificed any 2 of the 3 players we’ve bought in (and I do rate those signings) for a top quality DM. If Luiz ends up going and we don’t sign someone our midfield will be paper.
  3. How would you sell spurs, though, other than that it’s in London? That you get to play with Kane? Nah, he’s off given half a chance. That there will be investment in the playing staff? Nah. Levy. They seem to have been reasonably successful in spite of the way the club has been run for the last 5 years. They are going to torpedo when Kane leaves.
  4. I’m not worried about spurs Levy will offer peanuts and get nothing
  5. Thought they were recalling axel so we dont have a choice?
  6. And that includes playing a fair few top teams.
  7. Honestly, whilst I think he was probably not top choice in teems of the roles we needed/still need to fill, if and when we figure out how to work to his strengths with the team/system we have, I think he’ll score a metric f**k ton of goals.
  8. It was a thread. Responding to responder. PF implied that Ings was a second rate (third rate actually) alternative transfer. At the end of the day you find value in the market wherever it can be found. It’s how you build equity without breaking the bank. Even if that happened, which is far from clear.
  9. Harsh on Ings, as a proven PL goal scorer. He scored tons for Soton. Hardly a Punto.
  10. I think what baffles me is that it's so obvious when you compare it to good officiating. At the Euros this year the refereeing was (in general) excellent. I found this astonishing after watching the Premier League, as I'd kind of become accustomed to garbage refs.
  11. I normally don’t partake, as most conspiracy theories are nonsense perpetuated by morons, but after that VAR check against Man U, I must admit I changed my opinion a fair bit about refereeing.
  12. Only Spurs and Arsenal, and Arsenal can’t catch them.
  13. Think it will be hard to claw our way up the league from this point. We’ve got a bit of a deficit to make up. A good run now would help… breaking- so would that Brentford goal!!
  14. How the f**k are Man U 4th? They are absolute garbage.
  15. Wow. They really do have the VAR guys in their pocket.
  16. Sometimes we’ll be up against teams where technical superiority is important, sometimes like today we’ll be up against bullies and thugs. The fact that we won with most of the ‘technical’ players in our side- Phil and Emi, bodes well. Not really a game I’d expect Phil to shine. A win against them feels good. Stops the rot and gives us a platform.
  17. The enthusiasm (pashun) that big Dunc will put into them can only overcome a certain amount of organisation deficit that all that change brings about. I expect them to come flying out of the blocks, and would not be surprised if they score early doors, but over the whole game I expect a combination of our quality going forward, and our organisation to grind them into dust. 1-3, with Everton to score first.
  18. I’d put him on the bench not from choice, but because he’s not match fit yet. The game is over 90 mins and having him as an impact sub for 30 mins against tiring legs will do more damage to the opposition than having him on from 0-30 mins.
