  1. We have chambers now as well, who is reasonably mobile, and a decent standard.
  2. I mean, I know I'm going to get toasted for this, but if we do want our fullbacks to provide the width, could we not........go..............3 at the back?
  3. I agree. It's clearly not just injuries with Sanson, though. For whatever reason Stevie just doesn't fancy him.
  4. Agreed. I still maintain, though, that if we get the midfield sorted (1 maybe 2 signings of the right type), we will have a cracking team.
  5. I think maybe terms of team development (although I appreciate financially that it was vital due to parachute payments) we got promoted a year too soon. Dean did wonders in a half season the promotion year, but it kind of feels like we've been playing catch up ever since. I can't say that I've felt at the end of any of the summer transfer windows, for one reason or another, that the squad is where we need it to be for the campaign. We've felt half baked for years to me. Maybe it was the DM, the manager, or something more fundamental, but I've not felt the situation has been fully under control since we've been back in the prem. We get beat by those below us, and (sometimes) get points from those above.
  6. And to add, I don't think he's a crap manager now, just as I didn't think he was the second coming of Pep before.
  7. FWIW I'm still behind SG, but he has a lot to learn. I was personally getting pelters for expressing reservations (but still being broadly behind the appointment despite not wanting Dean gone). I think a lot of folk were convincing themselves that what you say was the case.
  8. Did anyone think at his appointment that he was a tactically complete manager, though. He had never managed at this level. We said it at the time.
  9. I must have lived under a rock, cos I had to google that this was Tommy Robinson. Did he change his name cos it sounds like a prep school toff?
  10. If I'm Ukraine, I'm smirking, because the fact they are banging on about that strike means it hurt Russia.
  11. Unbelievable isn't it (if not a false flag). They shell civilians throughout the negotiation process and expect it not to affect talks. Ukrainians hit a military target and it's umbridge-town.
  12. Fair point, he could have made Rock look like a massive douche just by going up and making a point about it. But then I suppose loads of folks would slaughter Smith over cancel culture or some such. Can't win I suppose. Maybe it would have been better to muller him in the car-park afterward.
  13. Yeah I saw that documentary. She f**King owns it now but for ages she was a mess.
  14. No I get that, and as I said not condoning it, but I don't think that Chris Rock was an entirely innocent party here. It's a shite joke aimed at the wrong person at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. I don't condone Smith's actions, but when he sees his wife's distress at it, I can understand them.
  15. A joke about what someone chooses to do with themselves, or how they act. But jokes about what people look like after illness? Something that Frankie Boyle would do, which is fine, because if you go to a Frankie Boyle gig, you kind of know what to expect, and you can choose to not go, but Oscars is kind of necessary to support careers. Captive audience, cheap shot. Go to a pub in Birmingham and make that crack and it ain't ending well for you.
  16. Is it though? About a third of men lose their hair. Myself included. It's not like it is unusual or that you stand out particularly. Ask your wife if it is equivalent.
  17. Not condoning it but it was a cheap shot by Chris Rock. A joke about appearance due to an illness. Oscars hosts have form but where I'm from, if I said something like that I'm expecting to receive a knuckle sandwich.
  18. Delete the last sentence if that bothers you, but it's not moderates that use words like woke and snowflake, it's folks at the other end of the spectrum (xenophobes to use your term), so to my mind a comparison is fair.
  19. I'm convinced that the concept of 'woke' is just a way that right wing politicians play into the nostalgia, and confrontational 'them and us' mentality that a certain section of society are motivated by. Same as 'political correctness gone mad'. People trying hard not to be crappy to each other is not the work of the devil. At worst it is misguided altruism, which I would take over distrust of someone who 'doesn't look like us' any day of the week.
  20. Russell Brand is what thick people think bright people are.
  21. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60793319 What's the Russian for 'Make Russia Great Again'.
  22. What is Russia conceding? It's right to murder children with precision munitions? Get stuffed Russia. Negotiation requires equitable concessions, or it's no longer a negotiation, it's ransom.
  23. Does anyone believe a word Putin says any more? There will have to be a clause that if he kicks off again against the weakened Ukranian defences that a military alliance perhaps not NATO in name, but in practice would come to Ukraine's defence. The UK have said they would act as guarantors for such an agreement.
