I don't think the tactics are helping. I know you get overloads, but Scotland have almost abandoned the wide areas. The German fullbacks are nearly on the touchline. It looks so unbalanced.

TBH that sort of tallies with my perception of Youri. He usually works the ball, and tries low% defence splitting passes which are sometimes devastating. That has never really been Doug's game (although he can pull off the odd outside foot 40 yarder), he drifts forward, lays it off, and lurks on the edge of the 18 yard box so when it breaks to him, he can either burst forward, recycle the ball, or let off a screamer.

One problem as I see it with all electorates, is that they constantly overestimate how easy it is for a leader to make progress on social issues, and they constantly underestimate how much damage a motivated nutcase in charge can do to the fabric of society. This is why we get folks like Milei, Le Pen, Trump et al voted for by otherwise right minded people who want to 'shake things up', not realising that 'shaking things up' means catastrophic damage to freedoms, economic and social systems, and the environment, progress on which has been hard fought and hard won. It's worth remembering that most freedoms take decades if not centuries to win, but can be lost in an afternoon.
