  1. Cripes. Welcome Diego!!! This is all quite exciting.
  2. We already have one in Ukraine. Send em there.
  3. True, but at Villa unless they immediately start tearing up the Premier League, a lot of supporters call them shit and demand that they're sold. There is never enough patience at the club to allow long term builds. Konsa, Hause, Cash, Luiz, Bailey, Traore, and Ollie are all 26 or younger right now, and at some points this season I've heard calls for all of them to be upgraded or sold, rather than developing them. You cannot tell me all of those players have reached their peak.
  4. I'd settle for not losing our best players in the last week of pre-season. This pre-season more than most in recent times is going to be massive. It's a chance for SG to really set out the details of how our system/systems are going to work, and to establish a culture in a way we just couldn't while we were in the fight. As Stevie himself suggests, the culture and mentality will be more than half the battle, as we do have some quality players. Now we can really engrain it.
  5. He's gotta move with the demands of modern football.
  6. Don't worry he'll sign 8 left backs and transform the team.
  7. If it helps, when Trump gets in again their society will crumble.
  8. Look, I really really hope you are right, and that attitudes across the wider public are where they should be on this, but I'm just not that optimistic about human nature. ie. 57% of people who identify as Republican (registered voters) own a gun, or have a gun in the household, and of those, 80% of non-NRA members (85% for NRA) are in favour of teachers carrying guns. 80% (88%) are in favour of increasing the number of locations where concealed guns can be carried. I just don't think it's that niche.
  9. It's doesn't seem to be much of a vote winner if it's just over half, and skews along party lines (I should point out that 77% of NRA members identify as Republican). Plus you talk about NRA using funds to lobby as the issue, but the majority of their funds come from memberships (ie citizens), and only 27% from private contributions. The american people in large part fund the NRA, enabling them to lobby.
  10. Not sure I'm 100% on board with that if I'm honest.
  11. Let me ask you then. Whoever was in power at present, Trump, Obama, whoever. If they enacted gun reform would they win the next election? If the answer is no, then the public are right front and centre of this issue, not just the NRA.
  12. That's the thing. It doesn't take intelligence, it just requires a lack of laziness in actually researching something you vote for. That should be the minimum requirement for voting. People talk about increasing voter turnout. It seems saft to me to try to get voters to get to the ballot boxes when they either don't care enough about the subject to vote for it, or can't be bothered to actually research it. Encourage those who do, and have, to get out there and vote and we might get somewhere.
  13. I was talking about a 'broad will of the people' mandate, but I know you are right. People are just f**king hopeless, and prone to causing their own demise.
  14. In other words, lies. I am still astonished people actually fell for it. It was more than obvious at the time that the leave argument had no basis in reality or pragmatism. I'm not really all that sympathetic with leave voters getting shafted to be honest. Just angry they shafted everyone else.
  15. 27 school shootings so far this YEAR. I kind of want Biden to do a national address and rather than offer condolences, just say 'I can't stop this unless you give me a mandate. This will 100% carry on until there is gun reform, and I can't do that unless 50% of you let me. American voters- It's YOUR fault this is happening. You are killing your kids.'
  16. Where does he buy his t-shirts, Walsall Market? The Nike logo is sliding down his chest!
  17. You can be hard, without being a word removed.
  18. I'd never heard of Charles De Ketelaere until I brought him to Villa on Fifa. Fwiw he is freaking epic on there.
  19. I guess. I'm...I just don't know really. I'm already feeling pretty disconnected with the team at the moment. Signing Suarez wouldn't help.
  20. I guess if Suarez does sign, I'll have to suck it up and support it. It would be hard for me, though, as I find him amongst the most unsufferable people in the game. No question he's talented, but I will be honest, the only people I'd less like to see in a Villa shirt are Troy Deeney, and Ben Mee. I guess I'll get over it.
  21. Haha, yeah. The 2019 season finished a little while ago, though.
  22. Welcome, welcome. Exactly the player we need, in exactly the right position. Outstanding business, if a little overdue.
  23. I'm still yet to be convinced that the early Smith form would have carried through to a relegation fight. New manager bump looks very much like regression to the mean. Gotta say that I'm quite excited about this summer though.
