  1. Exactly! Something to do with their mascot apparently. Who knew it was Rab C Nesbitt?
  2. Has anyone posted the Special Partick kit yet? It has a representation of an angry steaming Scotsman with a unabrow.
  3. Parma's is nice. Hard to mess up those colours really, but it's good nonetheless. Palermo's looks a bit like a refs kit to me. Kind of have visions of Collini in the pink one.
  4. Yeah, was gonna say, at least it's better than their 3rd kit last year.
  5. Could they not say they were being 'moderate' by not kicking off militarily then, and now once provoked again, they are exercising force? They are firing ballistic missiles now. It just plays into a 'reluctant use of force' narrative.
  6. Yeah there was, China threatened 'strong measures' in response to those visits. So then the US does it again. How is that not provocative? Look, I'm no fan of China's government, but this was a rash move at entirely the wrong time. A time where they are itching for an excuse that legitimises on the world stage an invasion of Taiwan. They will have seen the worldwide response to Russia, and it will have given them pause, but they can sell this as justification to countries that would otherwise have denounced their actions.
  7. Not even the white house wanted it. It gives China an excuse to be aggressive to Taiwan, and drives them closer to Russia. If that was the intent, there are some grade A morons in power in America.
  8. As I said on another thread, I just don’t know what Pelosi was thinking visiting Taiwan right now. Spectacularly bad timing that was always going to lead to a response.
  9. I had time for her during the disastrous Trump campaign, but if that's true, it's pretty god damn selfish.
  10. Now if you can make it art deco, and put in on a wall in Rapture, we will be getting somewhere.
  11. I can't agree. The timing of the visit is awful. At a time of heightened tensions, when we are engaged with an increasingly isolated Russia, the visit is provocative, gives China an excuse on the world stage to behave more aggressively toward Taiwan and gives a clear common enemy to Russia and China. It almost seems designed to create a Russia China Axis. Them and us. It's an awful piece of timing, not sanctioned by the White House, and moreover, it's just a terrible idea. If China had initiated actual military action on Taiwan then sure, but at this stage what was wrong with diplomatic solidarity from a distance?
  12. Does anyone think that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan will mean China will actively start supporting Russia militarily in Ukraine? I have a feeling....
  13. Well sure, that's my point really. What matters is the squad.
  14. Well our net spend last summer was about 10m and no-one seemed to care, so frankly I'm not bothered.
  15. You are right in that it's never good to lose young talent, but I would ask a question here. Hypothetically if you had to sell one of our grads- CC or Ramsey, which would you choose? I'd keep Ramsey personally. Ramsey is worth 22m according to transfermarkt BTW.
  16. Wow, £20m. Really? I don't get it. I mean he's been decent, but..... I thing we've nicked Chelsea's wheels with this one. I think we'll defo sign another, now.
  17. I read that about 80% of the tory kingmakers are based in the South of England. It was a ploy to try and appeal to them. Of course it probably would have played better if she told them all in private. At least she's as dumb as a box of adjustables.
  18. Liz Truss reminds me of Kang and Kodos in the election episode of the Simpsons. Saying whatever makes the crowd cheer, reversing it if they boo, and being barely able to pass as human.
  19. Come on, everyone knows they don't use calculators, they write numbers on massive buses and park them next to each other. How can you be sure of a figure if it's not written on a massive bus?
  20. In fairness, I saw Haaland away from a pitch, and he looked like he was moving like an 80 year old with no knee cartelidge.
  21. This. Fix the major issues, then see if we can squeak out any good moves in due course.
  22. You are right, but in terms of performance I think it's also fair to say that Germany were a pretty dirty, disruptive side. The follow through on Earps and the subsequent challenge on our midfielder (Toone was it?) in particular seemed cynical and should have been given short shrift by the ref, who I thought lost control of the match very early on and didn't regain it. Testament to our outstanding resilience, and fantastic scenes that had me jumping around like a loon in my living room.
  23. Think he's probably trying to take the pressure off the team, who will be in uncharted waters. That said, I do think it could backfire, and reduce squad belief/morale. Hope so anyway. Don't mind them having a good season, and I have a lot of time for Parker, but hope they have a mare on Saturday. Of course he could be trying to put pressure on his board to pony up for more players. We'll see.
