  1. Unfortunately, given that I have young kids and most of his stuff has been (as far as I understand) adult themed, I've yet to see a Jordan Peele film. I hear they are very good, and they are on the list.
  2. I love that film. Not a bad performance in it, and Hailey Steinfeld in particular absolutely nailed the ambivalence (strong/vulnerable) of the role.
  3. Annnd I'm out. Good luck folks.
  4. And you would prefer that over winning 3 and drawing two. Correct?
  5. 3 wins and two draws from the next 5 and you'd want him sacked?
  6. You'd call for his sacking when we are winning?
  7. And that's cool, as I said I have no truck with reasonable opinions that have been formed on the basis of actual events and facts. Another poster on this thread (page 6) said that they hope that SG loses the first 5 games in charge and gets sacked. If that person tells me 'I told you so', I'm just not having it. My guess is that the people who have taken time to consider their opinions, such as yourself, are not going to be the ones saying 'I told you so'.
  8. Yeah, the set piece thing. Anyone have a percentage of goals so far conceded from set plays? I would be interested to see it, but it feels like it would be high.
  9. No, I get that Nick, and your first post on this thread illustrates that perfectly. I feel exactly the same, although (and I'm not talking about you here) I also try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and try to remain objective when it comes to achievement. Long term achievement requires long term thinking and investment, both financially and with respect to personnel. Short term thinking and reaction seldom results in long term success. That's why I generally abhor pushing the 'sack' button until things are played out. Playing devil's advocate here, SG has not had a calendar year here. Since 2010 we've had 9 managers, who have been with the club an average of 1.5 seasons. For whatever reason that's too many to be successful.
  10. Some would, yeah. Quote from the first page of this thread, from before a ball was kicked, or in-fact even before any press conferences: "Gutted. Sooner he's gone the better."
  11. Bold statement, given the Di Matteo, Mcleish and Bruce eras. For me, i'd say the worst manager in my time (also staring with BFR) would be Bruce or Mcleish. Biggest disappointment would be Lambert, as I maintain if he'd stuck to the attacking possession style he'd fostered at Norwich, we would have picked up, and been an exciting side. He went defensive under increasing pressure, and it fell apart.
  12. Yeah I liked the Spurs and Man City ones, but Arse fans are insufferable. Best one I've seen/heard is the BBC Sounds podcast 'Moment of Truth' which last season followed Oxford and Rotherham. Brilliant insight into management, and how much everyone involved actually cares, to the point of mental health issues.
  13. Each to their own I guess, but I just want to see Villa win, honestly.
  14. Maybe. Did you see the Arsenal 'all or nothing' on Amazon. Jesus I could barely stand to watch the fans in that.
  15. Did worlds of good for Arteta. And Arse fans are as entitled as they come.
  16. Nah, I've stuck up for Stevie since his appointment, cos that's what you do with a manager. If it turns out he's rubbish, I'll support the new manager, because that's what you do (clue is in the word supporter). I'm not taking any 'I told you so' shit from people who wrote him off before a ball was kicked, no chance. Legitimate concerns leading to a withdrawal of support based on results, sure, but I'm not abiding any guff from those who had a premeditated agenda. They can do one.
  17. Bye, Bertie. Always enjoyed your unpredictability going forward.
  18. The irony is that Segal is a proponent of Aikido, which as I understand it (I am a former student of freestyle kickboxing and karate) requires someone to attack you first to be effective, as it's all about redirecting attackers energy. Not sure that applies to Russia!
  19. Unpopular opinion: I don't see the point of having recent pictures of my family in my house. I'm talking portraits here, rather than pictures of us doing activities. I can just walk downstairs and look at the real thing. I have the pictures stored on a computer, and sure if they are older photos, maybe, but nothing from the last 5 years.
  20. Zatman should choose. Pacbuddies, Messi11 and Foreveryoung should concur.
  21. I'm happy they are struggling. Biggest S**thouse team in the prem. They'd rather dive for a penalty than have a shot in the box. Stuff 'em.
