What does the commonwealth even mean though. Is it not just a loose affiliation of countries that kind of share the same values? The Queen had absolutely no influence on laws in Australia or elsewhere (not even in the UK), even if she was referred to as 'head of state'. And when I was in New Zealand, it seemed to me that they more interested in the Queen than we were.

Seconded. RIP Elizabeth. Interesting watching CNN this evening, as an outsider's take. It seems as though she was kind of the world's defacto mum. The yanks seem quite shocked by it all too.

I think that would be an excellent idea for all concerned. Plus, a Villa fan in Bucks Palace! Maybe we'd get more VAR calls go for us.

I'm not a hardcore royalist, but the queen does some good work, and has represented the country admirably. The Royal Family has significant tourism value if nothing else. I would be very sad to hear her passing, and unfortunately I don't think it will be long, especially if the Family have been summoned.

It is sad to see the Republican Party stoop to this. I've never been a fan, and increasingly disagree with their values, but Trumpism is not Republicanism, or conservatism, and I wish his supporters could see it. Lincoln would be turning in his grave.

Neither really. He is a top player. But his defining attribute is his creativity when given license to roam. Pep is a great manager, but he insists on coaching positioning to the nearest yard. That's fine, it works, but we all saw that in such a system the quintessential Jack would be taken out of him. I just cannot see why Jack did not see it himself if we all could. Massive waste of a career. Could have been the next Gazza, now the next Ravel Morrison. I just hope he does a Merson, and moves on to a team where they just let him do his thing. Hope it's not us though. -

West Ham league positions were: 14/15 12 15/16 7 16/17 11 17/18 13 18/19 10 19/20 16 20/21 6 21/22 7 They have been knocking around Mid table for ages. We weren't in the league until 19/20
