  1. That is a very good point. As someone mentioned it above, lump AVB in with that.
  2. Lambert I could get, but it didn't work out for him. Garde and even Sherwood I could get, even if they were both disastrous in the end. McCleish was just baffling, and was doomed to fail from the very first day. It made no sense in any way to me as an appointment.
  3. Given that Amorim is now odds on, if we end up with Dyche i'm going on a drinking spree that frankly I may not make it back from.
  4. Come on Purslow, get on the phone. He know when that hotline bling.
  5. He looks like a hybrid of Drake and David Blaine to me.
  6. Don't man, you nearly killed me then.
  7. Well if he did well, it would only be a battle until, what, mid November?
  8. Well we nearly spent that on Sarr and didn't, so providing we dont give him an 8 year contract or anything, and put clauses in there that protect us, I don't see it as that much of a financial hit. At least that's how I'm rationalising things. It's strange to me that we'd spend that kind of money for a single player who might make a nominal impact on our success, but that Managers, who exert much more influence are not going for the same rates.
  9. His stock is high at the moment, so I don't blame him really.
  10. Honestly, as much as we rely on it, this has everything to do with the rise of the internet as a phenomenon. Unless it goes away, or becomes regulated (which won't happen) so that lies which reinforce our prejudices can no longer eclipse truth, there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it. The hard right, like recent iterations of government both here and in the States feed on it.
  11. Don't worry, he was taking the piss out of me.
  12. Astute. and you can't spell astute without....
  13. Is there anything in his managerial history that suggests he would want to or could change from a 'four four f**king two' hoofball-monger into a flexible, modern manager capable of technical free flowing football? You all are taking about win percentages of 40% as being poor. During Dyche's reign at his two managerial posts, he has a win percentage of 34.7% and 35.1% respectively. And Watford were in the Championship.
  14. Wasn't he appointed when Leicester were higher than any of our Managers have been in the last 30 years? Managed them for half a season and achieved an upgrade (5th) on their previous 9th place finish, and has subsequently never improved on a previous year's output.
  15. Hooooooooooooooff, then fight. Hooof and fight. Repeat until brain explodes or relegation, whichever comes first. Actually given that we have no midfield to speak of, it might just work. Dyche in!!! (I felt horrible typing that last bit).
  16. That was me. I don't know why. Just based on a profile of success in a foreign league over a relatively short period, and limited experience with multiple clubs. He might be great, I don't know, but I'm getting the heebie geebies a bit.
  17. Agreed. Loads of folks were rubbishing the Howe appointment on here. That was a great move.
