  1. I didn't know that. If it's even possible that I could want him here less than I already did, then I do.
  2. Depends how many bridges Levy burned last time?
  3. Maybe a wee bit over the top there. He's good at one style of play, it's just that when he comes up against a team who can confound a high press he's got no plan B. That said, I wouldn't want him here.
  4. I'm paraphrasing, but Emi (M), said that training was entirely sorted out and taken by Beale, and that it was the first time in his career where the Manager had no input. Or words to that effect.
  5. I'm not buying the 'squad is s**t' argument, partly for the reasons explained in my last post and partly because this squad even without the addition of two quality players in key areas (granted they are injured at present but have played and will play again this season) have finished mid table before. We added quality to a team that had been mixing it in mid table for a while. Aside from getting some wide players (come home Bertie), I don't think we need surgery, we NEED coaching.
  6. After watching the last game I think it's pretty clear that what we are really lacking is coaching and a system. It was plain as day. At the time I took it as a lack of confidence, but after all that has come out since, such as Emi's comments on training, I think they were just confused as to what to do when in possession. Bad news- that is not fixed overnight. Good news- all you need is a good coach with a clear vision, and the players output will increase hugely.
  7. The one advantage we have in this game is that no one knows how the f**k we are going to set up for this one. Not Frank, not the villa fans, and until about 12.30, probably not the players. Element of surprise innit.
  8. Have any of their strikers not scored for 8 months? Off to the bookies.
  9. What a knob. He ain't gonna last long in management. A large part of management is taking responsibility. He has just shifted any and all blame for his and SG's part in this onto his employers. I think he’ll find enthusiasm for his services reduced somewhat if future employers think he's going to blame them for any and all of his shortcomings.
  10. If you changed a couple of words you could post exactly this to the off topic politics threads about the government.
  11. Yeah, in effect not only were Beale and Gerrard responsible for the lack of development strategy, they were also the REASON for it.
  12. Playing devil's advocate here (don't shoot me), but isn't one man's 'wasn't backed' another man's 'chequebook manager'? We've been using an ability to be successful with limited means (a'la Frank and.....sigh Dyche) as a reason for consideration. Is the opposite not a reason to discount?
  13. Wasn't he supposedly the 'brains' behind the strategy? If there is no strategy that's at least partly his fault, no? As is the fact that we've played a daft narrow type of football that has lead us to sell off almost all of our wingers. F**k off Beale.
  14. You live in little Aston, you swanky old.....
  15. Genuine question to those who want Rodgers. What makes you think we'll get the Rodgers who was historically successful, and not the Rodgers who is imploding at Leicester?
  16. Whaaaaa? Tell me this is a reputable source. Please tell me it is!
  17. Are we sure this is not a front for the Leicester City board? Seriously though if we get Rodgers, and Leicester get any of the targets we've been talking about, Purslow should be horsewhipped.
  18. So in the 10 years he was there, they never produced any youth technically talented enough to evolve his style of play? Don't kid yourself. They were the way he wanted them to be. He recruited to reinforce that style
  19. Followed by a boring 15th, a boring 17th, a stressful 19th, then relegation.
  20. Hopefully McGinn will tell him to f**k off.
  21. Yeah, where is that guy? We need him to sort this s**t out.
  22. What leads you to think he's Pragmatic?
  23. I would say solely based on the magnitude of his achievements on paper, less, although there is still quite a significant risk, more so than Emery, who has managed in the Prem before, and is more of a known quantity.
