  1. In the short term expectation should be for stability. Any more than that is hyperbole, and will require much more coaching and time imo.
  2. The sport has always been about the fine line between bending and breaking rules I suppose. It just seems more insidious these days. Although that could be my own bias.
  3. As we've seen with FFP, sporting regulators have real problems confronting powerful sports teams, to the detriment of the sport.
  4. Red Bull owed them for the safety car, surely.
  5. The problem with formula 1 at the moment is that with Drive to Survive, and all the other off field antics, RBR have been set up as antagonists (well they set themselves up as antagonists really by being bellends), but on TV the baddies aren't supposed to win.
  6. I got them from the Operation Sports website. Clicky Here they are: I went for the slow option, as a personal preference, and had to tweak the user shot inaccuracy, as it was a little bit much for me. They won't be for everyone, as scores are much reduced, buy I like them.
  7. I'm sure it is, but I have no idea what the words 'upshot gold' 'popbitches' and 'sport eshot' mean.
  8. I'm so glad you posted that. I was scratching my head.
  9. I agree, but would point out that Climate Change is visible now. It's causing deaths from fire, flood, extreme weather now. It's causing droughts now. It has lead to the reduction in wildlife populations by 70% since 1970. People who don't see it purposely ignore it.
  10. It's been inhabited by life for 3.5 Billion Years. Humanity will have made it uninhabitable in a matter of centuries.
  11. Climate change will wipe out society. We in the west look at it and think- 'well some equatorial regions will become uninhabitable, some folk will die, but it won't be the whole of humanity, and we're well placed to look after ourselves.'. Wrong. The pressures of massive, massive dislocation of people, migrations of refugees on a scale never seen by humanity, and pressures on resources such as water WILL lead to worldwide collapses of societies and governments. When governments cannot control even the most basic of systems of food growth and distribution and the provision of water, the destruction and death caused by the lack of infrastructure will decimate the human race. Any other argument or over politics, war, religion, art, science, or anything else is meaningless. Those things being fought over (including Ukraine, Taiwan et al) will simply not exist. I ignore all this on a daily basis, because otherwise I would simply be unable to function.
  12. I must admit, I'm struggling to maintain interest during the 'Max Era'
  13. That is unbe-f***ing-lievable. If Saville was still alive they would be organising Jim'll Fix it live in a maternity hospital. This has GOT to stop. GET THEM OUT!!
  14. Oh my god she was my No.1 top crush of all time growing up.
  15. What's better: A country founded on sound beliefs, but which has become somewhat corrupted and forgotten their provenance. or. A country founded on corrupt beliefs and continues to uphold them diligently? I'll take column A, personally. A fox that tells a sheep it is going to eat it may be honest, but it's still a carnivore. (I may be stretching the metaphor a little there).
  16. Just finishing off 'Deliver us the Moon', which has been quite fun. Essentially a walking simulator with some puzzles, but some of the art and music has been excellent. Would have preferred it all in first person like the start though, if I'm honest.
  17. I should qualify that I don't think that Elon Musk himself is on anyone's side, and I think that he beleives what he does is for the good of humanity, but for all his engineering and marketing genius, his biggest fault is that he does not understand people. He trusts in the character of people far far too much. And with his level of influence, it unfortunately makes him dangerous.
  18. His aim surely is to privatise political discourse. Any political movement will need the support of twitter, and will pay to enable the spread of an ideology. It is the zenith of the part of American politics that I abhor. Any lobbying group with enough money, regardless of how crackpot or, let's face it evil they are will be given power beyond their dreams, where in the past these idiots (flat earthers I'm looking at you) would have been dismissed in bar room discourse as utter buffoons. There is only one way for society when black=white and right=wrong.
  19. Musk buying twitter is a watershed moment. The Web needs more governance, not less. This will result in the rise of hate, lies and ignorance like no platform has in the history of humanity.
  20. I know almost nothing about basketball, but from a layman's viewpoint the process of scoring in Basketball appears quite similar to a possession team in football trying to unlock a packed defence. Perhaps there are some crossovers there in terms of movement to try and stretch/unlock defences? Or I could be talking nonsense.
  21. Yeah. Well at least that's something. We can't underestimate the role of 'face' in diplomacy with China, too. After spending time in east asia (Viet Nam), I can say that it is extremely important. They are not Russia, who I think would implode if they ever said something that was 100% true. I think a combative stance with China is perhaps not the way forward as it is with Russia, who respect nothing but strength. What I think we need to give them due respect, whilst working with them to address the issues we have with their regime, something that absolutely wouldn't work with Russia. If we dictate to China, they could see it as a loss of face and become insular. Whilst we all hate the human rights violations, an insular inward looking China will not help anyone, including China, and they are too strong for us to batter into submission.
