This. Stevenage have come with a gameplan and are well organised in that low block. It's tricky to break down. Would expect more movement from our midfield, and for me Bailey looks broken, but it's not been too bad. Will say that the Stevenage No.9 is pretty handy, but their 10 is a dirty little f**ker. Think we'll kill them as they tire in he second half and get stretched.
Sanson has been the liveliest on the pitch, and Dougie looks like he has a bit more class than most. Nor sure why Bednarek is getting repeatedly beaten in the air. Needs to sort that shit out.
Looking at just the striker side of things, based on goals per game in the Premier League era, our best strikers have been:
Benteke 0.47gpg
Dwight Yorke 0.34gpg
Darren Bent 0.34gpg
John Carew 0.33gpg
Dean Saunders 0.33gpg
Good case for any of these to be in the list, but Bent and Carew don't get much love these days. (Maybe Carew does, but more as a cult hero, rather than as 'best striker'.
OK, my honest thoughts on Maguire. He gets a lot of criticism, memes etc, but it's hard from my perspective to tell how justifiable this is because a) I super duper don't watch United. and b) I have watched England lots over the last few years and he's always seemed good. Steps forward with the ball in a way that always contributed to the England system. I've seen a few games when him coming on has transformed our play.
That said he comes with a lot of baggage and negative publicity that we could probably do without.
On balance it's a reluctant no for me. But if he did come, I would be behind him (Kenneth not intended).
