In fairness, none of the players they have just spent all that money on have had chance to have an impact on the results yet. Isn't that why you buy new players?

When we've sold literally all our other options, then not having a plan b,c or d is just as poor. If all of those said no in in November, then we would know that selling our only other player who can play striker is folly. Ings sale makes financial sense, and I am not all that cut up about him being sold specifically, but only when we have a backup, or we know for certain behind the scenes that a backup has agreed to join us, and their club has agreed to sell. Otherwise it makes no practical sense at all. There must be contingency, it's why every club has a squad.

Because if both parties had said yes, they would be here already. If they said no, we'd be onto options b, c, and d. And if they'd all said no, then we'd not have sold our only other striker.

And let's face it we should have been gearing up for this window from the minute Unai was announced, sounding out teams/players for their willingness to sell/come to us. Selling players is mostly reactive, I get that, you can't sell players if no-one picks up the phone to us. If they do, sometimes you have to quickly weigh up opportunities. I don't really have a problem with how we've gone about this part. Good business. Buying players, though is much more proactive. That's why if it finishes like this I will be very disappointed.

This. I'm not saying Emery isn't elite, but he can only work with the tools he has. If there were 5 or even 10 games left, then the complexion of this issue changes immensely, and I would not have any doubt that this is the right move. As it is I think we're flying way too close to the sun here. Unless the next 14 hours is astonishing.

That's another point, games are gonna be compressed. Teams that can rotate are gonna have an advantage.

So, basically this is a map showing concentration of to**ers by population. Incidentally, Lincolnshire is my least favourite part of the country by far. I travel all over for work, and every time I go there I'm surprised by how horrible people are to each other.
