I think they tried it a while back in the Benteke era with the pinstripes, but I've never been a fan of them.

Tbf the team was wearing stripes when I first started supporting as a kid in 94, so I kind of feel this is quite Villa. Also it is an ace kit.loved it.

I've got all of the older fifa titles knocking about as digital downloads. Other than for nostalgia purposes do any of them still hold up? If so which is the current best game? EA Sports FC or one of the older ones? Edit- I should say for career mode only. I don't muck about with UT.

True, but I was under the impression that the deal took so long because Illing wanted assurances of playing time. Appreciate that was just rumours, but I saw it in a couple of sources.

Maatsen and Illing will both want to start. I'm assuming we'll be pushing one further forward (probably illing) and keeping one as full back/wing back?

You never know where these rumours come from. It could be that we've lined up multiple players just in case we end up having no choice but to lose someone. We might not ever have an intention of buying unless our hand was forced, but the media wouldn't know our intentions. Word getting out that we are scouting might be misconstrued as proof positive that we are going to bid.

He's played on both wings, but mostly when I've seen clips of him at Atletico he's been central, and appears to have made most appearances (165) as a central SS, whether drifting in from left or right from a number 10 spot. He's also right footed, so if we played him centrally, he's gonna move into the right hand channel. With Iling, and Maatsen, I doubt we'd play him out left except when there is an injury. Let's face it he's versatile and can play anywhere along the front line.

I'm on the fence really. I think I'd welcome it tbh. That Chelsea side he played in was a car crash. Totally unbalanced. I would not be judging him on that. That said, I did see some promising signs even in that team. And he's be playing off Ollie, the pressing, goal scoring assist machine. I think they'd link up beautifully.
