  1. To my understanding he's a right wing, pro trump ahole who liked posts on social media calling for members of antifa to be shot.
  2. Wesley made something of himself after a tough childhood in Brazil, his Dad died when he was 9, and he had two kids to support at age 16. He fought his way out of poverty, training while working in a screw factory, and breaking into European football through the Slovakian Super League. He's never had anything easy, and worked for his opportunity to make it. He came to Villa and at age 23, his career was effectively ended in any meaningful capacity by a horrendous intentional scissor challenge which destroyed his cruciate. He was out for over a year. Ben f***ing Mee. There is a special level of hell for players who intentionally try and ruin careers, especially of those who came from nothing and escaped poverty.
  3. You could always vote for a third party, and then the current lot will get back in.
  4. Just finished 'Telling Lies'. Very much enjoyed the acting and non linear storytelling.
  5. Well you got two sides. One may have f***ed the country into oblivion, one actually f***ed the country into oblivion. Of the two, why would anyone trust a party that actually did the deed?
  6. I know the lists so far have a strong midfield, but I would like to see Pulisic in the frame for the last team XI.
  7. Given that under the Tories, almost every aspect of the country has been utterly trashed (the economy, the environment, immigration, the NHS, transport (millions wasted on a section of HS2 that they ordered, and have now cancelled), the Union (in place for 230 years, now on the verge of collapse), Brexit, etc, etc, etc), anyone voting for the them would need to be a raving buffoon. It almost doesn't matter who else there is to vote for. In the last 7 years the Country has undergone it's biggest decline certainly in my lifetime, but probably for hundreds of years. I'm not a natural Labour voter, but honestly Starmer could be talking about the weather and they would get my vote.
  8. I assume some folk don't realise that granite is mildly radioactive.
  9. Hope so, he's quality. I understand the source is as reliable as a 10 pence teapot though.
  10. I mean, VAR checked that. That's up there with the worst pen decisions this season. And VAR checked it. VAR. Has. To. Go.
  11. Last time we won, in 2015, Rudy Gestede got the winner.
  12. Lost the last four against Bournemouth before today. Excellent result. Unai is nailing it big time.
  13. We haven't beat these since 2015. Really hope we get em today.
  14. Is that right? If so that fills me with slightly more hope. No problem with Xi trying to end the war, as long as the terms are agreeable to all (probably not, but I don't have a problem with him trying). I do fear it's a prelude to closer ties with Russia and escalation, though. No good can come of that.
  15. Great. It's still a waste. The only instance I have been able to find where 3 GKs have been used in a match is West Ham in 1986, and a cup game involving Shrewsbury in 1982. And Valladolid in La Liga, also in 1986, but the third GK came on as a CB, which kind of reinforces my point. Happy to accommodate and change my mind if you or anyone else can find other examples. Edit. As an aside, only 4 teams have ever used 3 goalkeepers at a world cup, and that is across the whole tournament.
  16. That's a terrible idea. Maintain a contingency against something that happens in 1 game every 5 seasons, while removing a potentially game changing substitute. OK not for us as yet, cos our squad is thin, but in general.
  17. Another benefit to top teams with big squads who can rotate. Players will be knackered before the season starts.
  18. China was and remains the wild card in all this. If China supply Russia militarily, Putin will become emboldened.
