  1. 5 points between 19th and 12th with less than 10 games to go. I have no idea who is going down. Apart from Soton. They are f***ed.
  2. Yes please. That would help our push for Europe no end.
  3. I thought he was linked with the Leicester job? Can’t remember which news outlet I heard it in, but I think it was Sky or BBC.
  4. I think our main potential pitfalls for the remainder of the season will be injuries and fatigue. We started to see the limits of our squad depth yesterday up until the red card, and given the game last weekend.
  5. I think that Leicester's strengths just neatly match up with our current weaknesses. Ash has been great this season, but he has lost a yard of pace, which he can normally make up for with guile, but Barnes will naturally exploit that. I think if Ash was a LB and Moreno was a RB we would have had fewer problems.
  6. Can I just say that I do kind of miss Bertie's dreads.
  7. How about bringing Carlos on, going 3 at the back with Konsa on the right, and getting width through Moreno? [Puts tin hat on]. Might solve the Barnes problem.
  8. Yikes. 40/1. I didn't realise the odds were that long.
  9. I know, and tbf Arteta has done a good job, but Emery has had the harder task imo. Arsenal has a much, much better squad.
  10. My home town, Dudley, is a case study for town centre decline. With Cradley Heath, my other old homestead, they just demolished the entirety of the town centre and replaced it with a Tesco megastore. All these planning chickens, made for short term profit, come home to roost eventually.
  11. I'm pleased that he's found some form and is a good fit. Always liked him.
  12. Realistically I still think Europe may be a bridge too far, but if we do it, surely Emery must be in with a shout for manager of the season. From where we were when he joined, and given that we barely strengthened, arguably weakened in Jan, it would be a phenomenal achievement. As good as any Villa manager in my time supporting since the early 90's. Hell even a top half finish would be impressive.
  13. Is Savo still managing a club side? Be good to have him back.
  14. I have money in bonds (UK corporate) and they are tanking, cos no one is investing money in UK business (brexit again).
  15. Couldn't agree more with all your points. Apart from unintentially slagging off the No. 9 night bus to Halesowen (we used to call it Fight Bus, or the Drunktank).
  16. Crossrail cost 18.8 Billion for a single, albeit admittedly long line. Given Brexit, and the generally poor financial state of the country, something that will only get worse, no way could that sort of money be brought to bear. It also took 14 years to build that line. It would be 2050 at least before anything opened in Brum. I agree Birmingham desperately needs something like the tube, but it will never happen. An elevated system like in Chicago would be more likely, but even that would be astronomically expensive. We don't know, however, what technologically advanced alternatives might arise that would be cheaper.
  17. As Brentford will testify to, following slippy departure. Emery was only in the stands for that one.
