  1. Never gets old. The comic timing is just genius.
  2. I've just watched the highlights. Are we absolutely sure that wasn't match fixing?
  3. I'm not sure it's possible to get a 1. A 1 for me would be if you lie on the ground fibrillating for 90 minutes.
  4. BBC player of the match scores gave Weghorst a 2.72 out of 10. No Man U players over 5. Ouch.
  5. I'd be surprised if there was an Art school in Luton. Neil Buchanan went there once for Art Attack, and he ended up drawing a 75ft high tramp using dog s**t.
  6. I travel all over the country for work, and Luton is without doubt in the top 3 sh!tholes in the UK.
  7. A bit like Brighton. They were one point away in 1997 from total oblivion. They stayed up in Division 3 (yes) by 1 point after drawing with Hereford. What a roller coaster they have been on. The opposite of Albion, who's boing boing mediocrity has been stinking up the joint for decades.
  8. They make good mustard, though. That's important. I like mustard.
  9. And they would play in the Champions League.
  10. I don't know why you guys sound worried, I think it's flipping hilarious.
  11. Easy, Dominion just rebrands itself as 'F**k Yeah! Inc.', the Democrats will think it's funny and ironic, and the Republicans will just high five each other, drink beer and shoot cans off a stick in their back garden with an assault rifle. I should be in PR, me.
  12. Apparently Musk is going to make his own AI to counter Chat GPTs 'Liberal Bias'. So after telling us all that AI is the biggest threat to humanity, he's going to build one that is selfish, loves guns and wants to invade the white house. I wish he could hear himself sometimes.
  13. He's on his way to breaking a few records. They are there to be broken.
  14. I mean, I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but taking responsibility for their refereeing is literally their only f***ing job. Bottling that responsibility by giving decisions to big teams is utterly cowardly, and is an instant sacking offence in my book. I'd rather they got things wrong than bottle the big calls and hand it off to Daddy VAR. VAR has totally undermined the refs responsibilities, and the refs love it.
  15. A game against Brentford is never, ever easy. You have a chance to be sure, but I have to be optimistic given how Unai has us playing. Good luck, but not too much
  16. They are less scary if you call them a Poo-ma.
  17. Used to be afraid of lightning (childhood trauma), but through exposure (I don't mean getting struck) it doesn't bother me now.
  18. I've been reading up a lot about what happened at Arsenal, and I think it tells you why (PSG aside), Unai has preferred to go to teams with potential, but which are lower in the league. It seems to me to be entirely about players mentality. Players under him seem to respond in one of two ways to his leadership. You either buy into the micro management, or you reject it. At Arsenal, by all accounts he had players openly mocking it. Big egos who didn't react well to being told exactly where to go and what to do. Whilst I understand it to some degree, it's important for the players to understand that he doesn't do it because he does not trust them, he does it because he's building a functioning machine, where each part is important. Players who he's managed tend either to hate him or love him (Guendouzi in particular says incredibly positive things about him), and form strong bonds. For this reason I am now thinking that even with the War Chest (TM) , we'll be very selective in recruitment, and it will be more focused on mentality than individual skill.
  19. Not to get too nerdy, but you could easily put another useful, but imperfect stat together using xG. If you took the xG for the game as a whole and divided it by the number of shots taken (you could do some jiggery pokery to remove outliers as well) you could get a figure which gives you a rough measure of shot quality. Call it xGq. Again it doesn't tell the full story, but if displayed with xG it might improve transparency. I'd exclude Pens of course. Of course every shot taken will have it's own xG, but it seems impractical for the casual fan to display each one on tv. Of course all these stats are not really meant for us. The club's analysts will have rafts of data that we are not privy to, and which will help.
  20. Twice today alone (I'm including the bar).
  21. I know Palace were only playing Soton, but that Eze is a bit good. He should also be knocking on the England door.
