  1. How does the relegation work, then. The table I've seen shows two teams relegated, and one in a relegation playoff. If it's just the one team in the playoff, do they play a promotion contender for that third spot?
  2. Oof. Just checked the score. Makes things interesting at both ends of the table!
  3. The Frank Lampard Vile Barry Fry Paul Tait Mate Stand.
  4. Maybe, but on the flip side, purely as an Aston Villa fan it does not bother me, as I choose to take the comments as being from a Man U fan, just as bants from any Man U fan doesn't bother me. His media engagements are generally as an op-ed 'colour commentator', to use a US term. If it was someone who is hired to be impartial, it would be different. No one tends to call Collymore out on his pro villa stuff.
  5. But he's not acting as an impartial pundit. He obviously has skin in the game.
  6. Massive game for Arse tonight. Makes things interesting if they turn Chelsea over.
  7. Difference is that Unai Emery is doing it with a squad worth £390M, and Ten Hag is doing it with a squad worth £670M. Figures from transfermarkt.
  8. Meh. He supports Man U. I've said waaaaay worse about Man U on here.
  9. Honestly I can't keep up with all the acronyms. AS, FFK, VIF, LSK, FFS
  10. The atmosphere looked great. Was the stadium new? It looked very clean. Who should I follow as my Norwegian team?
  11. Maybe someone who knows more about Portuguese football can answer this- Having been born in Funchal, how come Ronaldo doesn't have more of an affinity with Maritimo? They are the only reasonably successful Madeiran team, no? I would have thought he was a fan, such as pro footballers can be.
  12. Yes please. I would love to see that.
  13. This is what happens when you take the money, and tickle the devil's balls, so to speak. Greed always gets its pound of flesh in the end.
  14. No, that's fair, I just meant that 90% of fans, myself included, tend not to watch foreign leagues. Not because I dislike them, but in general it is hard to keep up with. MOTD is easy to find, and if he, or any other stellar players are playing in a league that gets widespread coverage then I get to see him/them more. But you are right, I hope he has a cold whenever we play them.
  15. Indeed. Really glad I got the Green throwback shirt. Incidentally, I was watching the Holy Trinity podcast the other day, and he was wearing the old muller shirt, but it was yellow. And it didn't look like a Goalie top (I remember the old Bozzie rainbow jobs). Anyone know where that is from, and whether I could get one, cos it looked mint?
  16. Just saw a comment on the BBC page covering this that made me laugh. 'Wow. If this happens the game against West Ham might be the first in which both teams only have 35% possession.'
  17. Isn't the entirety of St. Andrews a urinal? Would explain why it's falling down- acidic bluenose wee-wee degrading the concrete.
  18. Was I imagining it when I recall that he tried to implement exercise bikes for subs warming up on the sidelines? I can't find any pictures but I seem to remember it. It was ages ago.
  19. WSL players earn on average 45k per year. To expect TV rights equivalent to the men's game, where salaries are 50 times higher is bonkers. How are audiences, and revenues expected to grow (and yes, ultimately salaries) if no one can watch the bloody games?
  20. I'm not sure why, other than the Man City fraud stuff, people aren't just enjoying the fact that they see this guy week in and week out in England. I think maybe it's because he's doing exactly what everybody expected him to do, tear s**t up. He stays here another couple of years and he'll set records that won't be broken in our lifetime. He's an astonishing footballer. And the fact that people can't put their finger on why he manages to do what he does makes him even more astonishing. Play down his technique, whatever, he still scores goals. He lays out a challenge, and opponents know exactly what he's going to do, but they cannot stop him. I love watching him, I'll be honest. Just wish he played for someone else.
  21. That's crazy, and will massively hinder the development of Women's football, which is starting to do bits. Or is that the plan?
