They need a rebuild. You are right though, their fanbase won't give anyone who comes in the space to do it. They could though. They have an asset in Kane that could be sold and if they invest it right, they could spend a couple of years mid table then have a younger, more balanced side knocking on the door again. They won't though. They'll hire 3 managers next season, after each successive one fails to polish an unbalanced turd of a team. In that respect, Kane staying is the worst thing they could do. Unless they break the cycle, they will need to be watching out for trouble at the other end of the table.

Dunno why people are discussing the relative merits of Birmingham. I would hazard a guess and say they only go there once a week on a Saturday afternoon. They train in Bodymoor Heath, which is closest to Sutton Coldfield, and closer to Tamworth than Brum, and most Villa players live in Little Aston. If you offered me a house in Little Aston, I may well take you up on it. I wouldn't be saying, for instance, 'nah, shithole this, get me somewhere in Liverpool'.

Man City would buy him for shits and giggles, regardless of their current options. Chelsea would buy him as it seems more likely with each passing day that they have become some sort of money laundering operation.

If his announcement is just that he is leaving, I'd be concerned that he's trying to drum up additional interest. I would hope it's more substantial, or accompanied by a statement from us that he's signed.

It's bound to. Absolutely bound to. I'd like to say having kids didn't affect my work, but that would be a lie. I couldn't remember my own name through fatigue some days. I know he'll be able to afford all manner of support that you or I couldn't, but it's still gonna have a toll. Peace and calm will be gone now for decades.
