Do brummies say that 'it's dark over Bill's Mothers' when it looks like it's about to rain? Also do they have bostin? We used to use whammel for dog in Darby End.

Yes! I used to love that film, although I've not seen it in ages. Critical 'keeps my powder dry' Bill. Andy Garcia in that film is one of the coolest humans in history. I still use the term 'boat drinks' in conversation from time to time, despite living 200 miles from the sea.

100%. Where we grew up you could tell the difference between folks who came from Tipton, Dudley, West Brom, Netherton, Old Hill, Halesowen, and a load more. There is hardly any distance between all of these. Some were stark differences.

Before Chelsea adopted the roundel (that looked like ours) in 2005, they'd not used it for 50 years. Besides, the main (and to be honest the only) point was that the majority of people picked our current badge because it meant something to them, and not because it did or didn't look like any other badge, whether it's Chelsea, Man City, or whatever, which is as it should be. If we're gonna retire shapes on the basis that other people use them, we will be onto dodecahedrons soon. This is about us, not f***ing Chelsea. F*** Chelsea.

Levy called, and asked if we'd take 2.5 million and Dier for the star on our crest.

Imo any rebranding should be: 'We're Aston Villa, this is who WE are' If the purpose is 'We're Aston Villa, we're definitely not Chelsea', then the whole thing will be worse than pointless, and will be a waste of time and money.

If you throw away our heritage just to become a 'unique brand entity', you are selling out big time. The badge was chosen as an option originally specifically because of it's historic use. We can't copy other clubs, but going the other way and alienating our own history to avoid it being similar to Chelsea, who essentially copied us, is similarly desperate.

Examples that makes their respective entities look like NHL franchises. Even if they are not. Just feels dumbed down. Yay! Go Lions!

I'd prefer if we were a club not a franchise.

Man, they are gonna be relegated by Christmas.

Prefer the current roundel to all of those. First one of the above is OK. Can't stand any of the rest.

I'm starting to think this Prigozhin is a bit thick. Does he expect Putin to stick to his word? When the time is right he'll get a long fall onto a very hard place. -
If we can get Torres over the line, and add a ST/RW it will have been a decent window, I reckon. Not epoch shattering, but adding quality. As it is, and even with Torres, the fact that we'd still be forced to start Bailey every week would be disappointing, but we're edging toward getting it done.

Because we've seen here and in the states that being a vile heartless c*** is no longer a barrier to public office. In fact it is a way to get undying support from certain elements of society. -
I'd just like to add a little perspective, if I may. I know a few folk are not down with the new crest. To those people I would say that it could most certainly be worse. For instance the crest of Newells Old Boys, a club in Argentina for whom Messi once played. Try having this on your chest:

Nah, based on what I've heard about him he's all about heritage. Modern is one thing, but he'd be a fool to ignore our legacy. The lion is most certainly part of that. It's one of our monikers.
