He does seem to play a lot of looping balls (accurately, mind). I wonder if he'll have to adapt that side of his game. Can't see those being very effective in a physical league like the Prem. Opposition CBs can almost all compete in the air, and our forwards aren't known for their aerial dominance.

We got a baller here, guys. His vision and range of passing for a CB looks astonishing. Finds an open man with a range of unconventional passes.

I just hope they don't make it like FM 21 (I think it was 21, poss 20) where it was impossible to cross because the wingers would pelt it down to the byline and thrape it off the full back for a corner.......EVERY F-ing time.

I've got a cat. I say hello to it in the morning, it then f***s off for 8 hours, and comes back for a quick snack and a fuss, then f***s off again. I love cats. No bother at all. It's like having a tiny lodger.

Maybe we need to speak to Messi. The rumour is that he has a clause in his MLS contract which allows him to set up a MLS franchise at a cut price fee. Perhaps NSWE could provide him with business support in exchange for the new entity being VV? -

Wonder if he'll play ahead of a Back 2, like an old fashioned half back? Someone described Pep's team the other day, on the radio or something, and while they didn't use the language, it sounded so much like a return to the old school WM formation of the 1920s with halfbacks and inside forwards. Kind of feels like everyone is looking for inspiration throughout history these days.

Good thing he isn't replacing Mings then. It still staggers me, despite what he did last season Unai is so underestimated by the football world. Like he wouldn't have a plan to deal with this. You don't spunk money away, pursue a player like this, and most importantly convince him to come here unless you'd perhaps had a bit of a think about how you would play him, and told him how he fits into the plans. It's mega lazy journalism.

Villa must be a good club to play for as a Centre Back. Many of our most revered players, cult heroes even have been CBs. Not sure you get that at somewhere like Man U.

That's fair, I just want something that we can all get behind, and that, as you say, probably means representing in some way our history. I'm not absolutely entrenched when it comes to the round badge, and i'm open to suggestions, but it does hark back to one of arguably our most successful periods. That said, if we were to drop it, I do think the Gaslamp is a good idea, as it is both unique, and acknowledges our history. None of the other options that I saw during the recent consult apart from the two finalists did much for me tbh.

With Unai's asymmetric system, might we want two righty CBs to channel strikers toward the more defensive of the two full backs (the CB/FB)?
