  1. I'm not pro the current system, but there needs to be some form of more equitable regulation. It's a moot point anyway, as there is a big difference between lobbying to change the rules we are complying with, and trying to change rules that are being broken. One of those is legitimate.
  2. In fairness the Premier League would miss the additional interest from overseas fans they bring to the league. It is not in their short term interest to punish them too harshly. Imo a lenient punishment would however cause irreparable long term damage to the cash cow that is the PL. They won't be thinking in those terms though.
  3. The hilarious irony is that the one time they were second, Chelsea won it. Then Man City have won every one since aside from 19/20.
  4. Due process. Or the appearance of due process. Thing is, I don't think there will be any complicity on the part of the PL. I'm sure they do want to punish them. Man City just have an infinite pot of lawyer money.
  5. Noooooo. Just heard this. Awful.
  6. They should, but they won't. I would be astonished if there are any meaningful sanctions.
  7. Hang on. Everton hit with, what, 6 points in 21/22 and 2 points in 22/23. I'm assuming that Man City won't be found to have breached 115 times, as some will not be provable etc. But say 50% are, that's 58 (rounding up) breaches. Using the lower of the punishments handed to Everton that would be a 115 point deduction. Using the higher, it would be 348 points. A pissy 50 point multi year penalty would imo be ridiculous. They have to throw the book at these people. They have cheated systematically to win because they think they can get away with it. We cannot make them right.
  8. Also Dalian Atkinson 105/31 3.39, making him 6th.
  9. Ooh yeah I forgot to do Deano, and he was my hero growing up. What a dolt.
  10. Easy to weed out that bias in the stats- appearances per goal. On that basis the list is now as follows: Benteke 2.11 Watkins 2.45 Yorke 2.98 Dublin 3.23 Angel 3.90 Agbonlahor 4.30 This is far closer to the order I would have put those strikers in without the benefit of statistics. Fwiw if asked for my top 3 I would go Yorke, Tekkers, Olly in that order. Edit, another note, Savo would sit between Dublin and Angel on 3.46
  11. Watching MOTD last night I thought it was a really good weekend for PL games. Diving seemed less prevalent, there were some corking goals and just generally really enjoyed watching almost every game for the first time in ages.
