  1. He is going to have to answer the question of why he called the election now at some point and he’s going to have to come up with an answer that makes sense. Only earlier in the day he was promising a bereaved parent that he was going to get legislation on the books for the infected blood scandal before the summer recess. So he either lied or something happened between those events.
  2. Some significant names missing from that list too. Paul Mason, Christian Wolmar and Harry Spencer. They've gone with the two local currently elected representatives, makes sense
  3. You really think that the leader of the opposition, ahead in the polls for a good two years, hasn’t thought about what he’s going to do when his party gets elected by the predicted landslide?
  4. Nah that was the autumn thinking, July 4th is back home with folks or on Holiday (but thats postal vote territory). He's not even gone for the Brexit Glastonbury ploy
  5. You mean nice weather that usually means a higher vote for Labour (or it used to, not so much now)
  6. indeed. Having a general election campaign with a currently undecided new leader would.... absolutely kill the Tory party for good. A fitting end
  7. If her annouces a GE later today, I'd expect most of what he says to be drowned out be celebrations
  8. Pretty sure the press have been holding some scandals back until election time. Just wait until the nominations close
  9. There is an extreme downside to this election being held on July 4th if it happens It's actually in the days before the QFs. Can't see footie fans thanking anyone for campaigning during the Euros
  10. Not sure that would wash so close to a recent budget. No-one is going to believe the government coffers have improved that dramatically in such a short space of time.
  11. Makes no sense to announce an election months in advance. Party politics (internal and external), trade and economics, international relations etc would all be adversely affected in a very big way
  12. Oh and if you want another signal, they announced that Wylfa is going to get a new Nuclear Power Station. It's quite the thing to do that just before you announce an election. This really wouldn't be the first time
  13. Inflation didn't fall by what they wanted. BoE less likely to cut Interest as a result, the odds of that have reduced from 50% to 15% as a result. That kick isn't going to happen for them so they might as well go now as there is nothing they have left in the tank to give themselves a boost. Thats why it may well happen
  14. I thought they went bango a good while back? Certainly shut a whole bunch of sites a long while back They spent an absolute fortune on sports sponsorships. An absolutely unhealthy amount, so much so that it just looked like a money laundering operation.
  15. Take my mother up the Mersey…. Strange!
  16. It’s nowhere near as polluted as it used to be
  17. I was being generous as I have no idea what face value tickets were
  18. Fairly standard route to be honest, seems to avoid the major hotspots with high altitude missile ability
