Journalists are pulling the £2k tax figure to pieces and Tories are on record continually lying about it, Vic Derbyshire skewers Claire Coutinho on Newsnight last night and that is before the Civil Servants letter was released (I think) Jon Sopel literally calling Sunak a liar over it, plenty more besides.

I just saw the local MP to work - Peter Dowd (Bootle) in the shopping centre over the road, he was wearing a red sticker with the sort of top right quadrant being a bit of a Union Jack It had his name on too!, just in case he forgets it I suppose, given that its one of the safest seats in the country and he's the local Labour Mafia Don (his family and friends pretty much control the Labour Group on the council) he must have had them printed for the sake of it But yes, the Union Flag appears to be on everything

That's still an awful lot of candidate specific literature they'll have to produce in a very short timeframe. Meanwhile Labour almost completed their slate a good while back and fully completed it last week. Also, the Tories have literally sent out begging letters to members for donations with the threat they may not be able to produce election material in their seat if they don't get the money and also at a time when a number of large donors have refused funding because they consider they would be throwing money at an obvious defeat

Has Richard Holden (Tory Party Chairman for those that don't know) got a seat yet, last I heard he stormed out of a selection meeting when it wasn't going his way due to local members objecting to parachuted potential candidates on the short list In other news, I noticed that Liz Truss has opposition in her seat from a former party member who resigned as Deputy Lord Lieutenant (?) of the county in January specifically because he was going to campaign against her. Supposedly well liked in the community and his faction that left the party because of dislike over Truss' extra-marital affair were known as the Turnip Taliban. Doubt it'll affect her much but those disaffected with her in the seat do have another Toryish option through which to express their dissatisfaction with her.

Tbh, they didn’t exactly have a lot of people to choose from as leader, maybe they'll get someone a bit better when they get up to 50 MPs compared to the 11 they had when Dave was elected

Yes so as much as the crowds were there, its quite easy to also see some of the crowd applaud the young milkshakers actions, so it shouldn't be an automatic assumption that all there were supporters, not only that but a lot will have come from neighbouring constituencies too. Essentially in circumstances such as this with people like this, people will come some distance and some will come just for a nosey about
