  1. Xmas Haul #2 Trees Speak - Almost Human plus free 7" with initial first pressing This one is purely speculative as they released 2 albums this year and I thing this one from the descriptions of them is more me but I'll probably get the other one at some point. Succeeded in not listening to a single track before opening it, so it's brand new to me and sounding great as I type. Experimental Jazz meets German Electronics meets Post-Punk (with a hint of Space-Rock) is how I'd describe this instrumental album
  2. Currently finishing the Layer Cake previous mentioned by Alex Also had a glass of this most British pop. Its about the only day of the year I'll drink sparkling wine as its not really my thing but its a bit of a tradition at the gift sesh. it's odd, whilst it's not my thing, I can tell good from bad and this is very good (and English so more bang for buck)
  3. First of the Xmas haul. This one would definitely have been in my AOTY list had I owned it before today Black Country, New Road's debut from this year For The First Time. Translucent blue vinyl and Lyric book (Limited edition of 600)
  4. Finally the gifting sesh is over. Everyone happy with their haul I have 8 new albums, some new PJs, a fleece and the Dave Grohl book Another hour to the food apparently, I'm bloody starving
  5. So far today I've played... Lost Girls - Bar For Lashes and now I'm onto...
  6. On this day long ago, a child was born who, by age 30, would transform the world.
  7. The gifting sesh hasn’t started yet here but I can see a number of packages 12” x12”
  8. Some kind of stout maybe after that but I want a caffeine hit first
  9. Well I've started off todays sesh with a Very Berry Sour from M&S (5.8% by the Brick Brewery) Next I'll be having one of these
  10. Ah well, you'll regret that in 9 months time
  11. It's fine to complain about a programme. It isn't a waste of the Licence Fee. As soon as you bring the Licence Fee into the argument, it enables the Tories plan, it's exactly what they want you be thinking People need to realise that the Licence Fee is what enables them to watch telly legally. That it funds the BBC is an entirely different issue. It doesn't entirely fund the BBC for starters (about a 75/25 split between Licence Fee and Overseas Sales). The money for the Licence Fee is collected by an outside agency and given to the Government, it is a tax. The Government then allocates the money to the BBC (and says where it should spend its money too iirc) The Licence Fee also allows you to watch live football legally on any channel, or any other TV channels output as it is broadcast. The Goverment like you to think the Licence Fee is collected by the BBC (in name it is, in reality it isn't),
  12. That makes you the willing accomplice in the grand Tory plan to privatise the BBC and abolish the licence fee. Because people make that false argument all the time, the Tories feel enabled to push that agenda. You'll miss it when it’s gone.
  13. It isn't. Your licence fee is allowing you to legally watch a TV. That money is then passed over to the BBC to create a broad range of programming across radio, television and online to suit all tastes. You do not really have the right to complain about your money being wasted on a single programme. No programme is desugned to appeal to everyone. The "why is my licence fee paying for this shit," is a completely false argument. Yes I think The Apprentice is shit
  14. Yep Seasons Felicitations to one and all, get pissed, destroy!
  15. Right, another double album compilation. I think I posted volume one a while back (artists from France on the list) This one focuses on German artists on the Nurse with Wounds lists Strain Crack and Break Volume 2
  16. There was some bod on the radio a few days ago saying he expected the real figure was 4 or 5 times the official figures due to the mildness of the symptoms. Even the most compliant of people with regards to testing etc might not have a incling that they have it
  17. Right, Next up Fruju, a NEIPA by The Big Smoke Brew Co from somewhere in Shandyland (Surrey). 4.9% and its distinctly average. Its not horrible or anything but it's probably more of a summer drink for me
  18. They also don't have Father Christmas either, they have Father Frost #doublenerd
  19. Especially as those that are Christian in Khazakstan are mainly Russian Orthodox that don't celebrate Christmas until Jan 7th as they use the Julian Calendar
  20. In my albums of the year list... Pop Psychédélique - The Best of French Psychedelic Pop 1964 - 2019 Includes Brigit Bardot, Serge Gainsbourg, Zouzou, Air, Stereolab and The Liminanas
  21. Not had it before but I have one in my Xmas stash
