  1. Why is the first question in my mind... What did he autograph?
  2. Well I got Gerd Muller, I got Ronald Atkins too but he died the day I posted him and never noticed so I was playing a man down all season
  3. So todays starter... It's mostly all written on the can but it's dry hopped which I always like and typically piney (Simcoe hops), it does taste essentially of beer, I'd drink more of these
  4. Nice tits, how much were they? Why waste words
  5. Ah F***, F***ity F***! That one's a bit personal. Met Janice a good number of times, in fact she was the ex-girlfriend of a very good friend and a very good friend of many friends of mine. I wouldn't class her as a friend of mine but I knew her well enough for a hello nod across a room and the occasional chat. Not only that but she was one of my Radio DJs of choice in my formative music years That really has put a downer on the day and Facebook will be rather full of tributes in my friends group if I dare go on. Not quite on John Peel levels but a lot of bands owe their careers to her, possibly the second most important Radio Dj of the 80's (behind Peel obviously) Absolutely gutted!
  6. I was just browsing the Rough Trade post-Xmas sale and there are some bargains to be had in the Vinyl Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't Give Up - The Original Memphis Recordings Triple album, reduced from £50 to £30 Nick Cave and Warren Ellis - Carnage, reduced from £28 to £18 BBC Radiophonic Music - BBC Radiophonic Workshop, re-issue of the 1968 debut for fans of Library Music, reduced from £23 to £13 (there's another 1973 release similarly reduced) Laura Marling - Song For Our Daughter - The Rough Trade exclusive edition reduced from £23 to £13. The bog standard version is still for sale at £20 There's plenty of Jazz standards with a couple of quid off (£15 to £13 for example) Moon Duo - Circles - The Rough Trade version is reduced from £25 to £15 the standard green version is reduced from £22 to £20 Moon Duo - Mazes - Rough Trade Version again, reduced from £25 to £15, standard version also reduced by a few quid Another of my albums of this year, Liminanas / Laurent Garnier - De Peculia, Rough Trade version which includes the free 7" (long gone elsewhere) rduced from £33 to £19 SOme of the titles in the sale have already sold but there's definitely some bargains to be had and something for everyome
  7. Yes, I'm not a member of Extinction Rebellion
  8. And finally Haul#8 Shame - Drunk Tank Pink. Deluxe Edition, Clear vinyl double album with second disc being early demo versions of each track on the original album. They get compared to Idles / Parquet Courts etc. which is fair and Fontains DC which really isn't. Personally I much prefer them to Idles
  9. I actually will have to look up who I picked, no clue right now and then I'm going to have to think about next years entries as quite a few hard favourites have popped on the mortal coil this year EDIT: @Xelaactually started this thread on Boxing Day last year so....
  10. He did also lend his name to a distinctly average classification of academic qualification.
  11. Yep I had a full 8 hours myself last night, I feel tired, not used to it
  12. Haul#7 Lucy Dacus - Home Video, Bog standard normal black version A lovely indie-pop album
  13. Perennial favourite pick in the early days of the dead pool, Bishop Desmond Tutu gone at 90
  14. Haul#6 Low - Hey What. Crystal Clear Loser Edition
  15. Haul#5 St Etienne - I've Been Trying To tell You - Poweder Blue Vinyl (Rough Trade Edition again) = includes 3 track remix CD. This version is in it's own clear sleeve protector wuth the roadsigns being stickers on that outer sleeve Very different, trippy atmospheric pieces with field recordings and not the usual songs structure,
  16. Haul#4 Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg - crystal clear vinyl with black yoke (Rough Trade Edition)
  17. We had two sorts of Roast Spuds, same potaoes cooked in different fats I'm definitely feeling a wafer thin mint could burst me
  18. They can have that Word Removed
  19. It's OK but I wouldn't want more than one of them. I liked it but I think more than one and it would become a little sickly
  20. Haul#3 St VIncent - Daddy's Home. Ltd Edition Bronze Vinyl (Rough Trade Edition) If I was describing it... Soulful Art Rock
  21. Why would you need Microsoft on a Macbook, just use Pages etc and save as a Word file instead of native
  22. Brother in |Law has just phoned up, I get on with him but do me a favour. sod off, I'm bloody starving now
  23. Gypsy Hill Brewery Inbound. A 5% Cold IPA brewed exclusively for Beer 52. It's an ok session IPA. Nothing more, nothing less
  24. Yes, this is really good, I await their album with interest. Much prefer them to their mates Black Midi
