  1. Not what I've been told to expect. It's a fairly open and shut inquest.

    Energy Bills

Definitely, especially as they'd have been given the money from the magic money tree anyway if it was that desperately needed
  3. The Inquest on this will open at 10am tomorrow, expected to be completed within the day. So I suppose it will be in the news again.
  4. Off the top of my head, the first pressing won't have a barcode, fairly sure mine doesn't. If its thrown up a number of options, you then have to dig around in the entry for each version to spot the differences I'll have a better look when I get home

    Families

I don't think there's much to worry about in the sending of the message but the text message will have a delivered or read status and that might be a little freaky for your daughter if she notices.
  6. I definitely concur with the Yard-Act vibes
  7. Not quite 2022 yet but here's what to look forward to from Adrian Sherwood Not listened to it all yet but it does seem that the Horace Andy album is finally going to be released and its the first track on the On-U Sound Sunday Roast Xmas Special, hosted by AMS himself (as he does every year) and he previews what is coming up in the next year (and very often doesn't ) Full show here It's not all that reggae stuff either. EDIT: 2nd Jeb Loy Nichols album produced by AMS sounds nice New Mark Stewart album and a new PIAB Vol 8 Brand New African Headcharge album First new Tackhead Album for 30 Years - OMFG! The track he played on this was in collaboration with LSK but definitely has Skip McDonald in Little Axe mode written all over it Even more amazing than a new Tackhead album a brand new Creation Rebel album, thats 40 years since the last one and that sounds brilliant Unreleased material from Andy Fairley (Long deceased Bristol poet and On-U artist) that they just found on hard discs - the track on this show is phenomenal, spine tingling stuff Unreleased Lee Scratch Perry track will be on PIAB Vol 8, one they held back from the last recording session featuring LSK and Skip McDonald Hell I'm not even half way through it yet and I'm VERY excited already
  8. I watched about the first 45 minutes, nodded off (not because of the film) and woke up and saw the last 15 minutes Totally spoilered it for myself It looked very good for a Netflix film but I'll never watch it now
  9. Interesting stuff from Mr FLying Lizards. I looked that up on discogs as I was listening to it. Only ever released on cassette and the prices are stratospheric, sells for about £200 a go. I'd like to hear the rest of it I think
  10. I started off today with a Northern Monk Faith but thats a standard beer on my shelves and now I'm on... Halcyon by Thornbridge. I just realised now I've looked at the can that its 7.4% abv which is much higher than normal for me, though it doesn't taste like its that high. I was going to say I could drink a few of these but that abv makes me rethink that
  11. I have this issue with Thee Oh Sees / OCS / Oh Sees - they all get filed under T primarily because they were Thee Oh Sees when I first got into them (I don't think of Thee as The which would obviously be ignored), however Damaged Bug go under D as do John Dwyer plus whoever albums (Dwyer always listed first) - they are all John Dwyer btw Ty Segal - only the acts that name Segal are in S, So Ty Segal and the Freedom band go under S with all the other Ty Segal albums but Fuzz for example are in F Moon Duo / Wooden Shjips / Rose City band are filed under band name and not Ripley Johnson Anyway Sections wise in Vinyl I have General / Jazz / Dub and Reggae / On-U Sound (which again causes issues because not everything is on the label - Lee Scratch Perry therefore is present in 2 sections) / Compilations / 12" singles / 7" singles / 10" Records CDs are General / Compilations All sections alphabeticised, though I really can't be arsed doin that with vinyl compilations by title, they are filed in a last one to get used goes at the end, so my popular ones all end up at the one end
  12. There's interesting bits in them but it's definitely them experimenting and honing their craft as the first three are off earlier releases. It's definitely them experimenting and honing their craft. The fourth is Satan is Boring an outtake from the Bad Moon Rising sessions It's actually an interesting sequence as you can sort of track the progression of their sound to this point through the four tracks. I can see why Satan is Boring was left off the album proper though
  13. We used to have one in a different house, yep totally brilliant having one
  14. It's also the most valuable SY record in the collection. Sister woud be but the condition of the cover is a bit rough I have the 12" of DV69 which has four other SY tracks on it, I might dig that out whilst I wait for my bath to run
  15. Continuing on a theme of obscure music from the USA... The UK first pressing of Murmur by REM from 1983. I actually have 2 copies of this, one I think came from a mate who moved to Thailand but this one is my original copy as his is the gold embossed not for resale one This one definitely takes me back to a particular girlfriend in VIth form.
  16. FInally scored some Bay Leaves, in Tesco, the fifth shop I visited. Pretty essential for a home made Lasagne which is what we're having tonight

    Weather...

It's clearing up over here now, blue sky can be seen but it looks temporary as there's big banks of cloud out in the Irish Sea
  18. Stop posting hearsay as fact then
  19. First pressing from 1985, actually still in its shrinkwrap 35 years later, the Lyric insert is still intact. I paid 6.99 at the time, in this condition (NM/VG+) its in the £30-£35 region As much as I like Sonic Youth, this isn't one of the classic albums so I rarely play it but it is actually much better than my memory of it so it may be getting a few more spins Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising.
  20. This is all the equivalent of the overheard in the hairdressers tweet from last week, it's hearsay and I really hope everyone that reads it treats it as such
