  1. It appears that Princess Anne is about to become the latest Farage supporter
  2. Well I'm shocked the Tories polled so low in the worst if I’m honest, also a bit shocked at the Labour figures for best But it really is a sideshow of a poll
  3. This is worth reading in relation to the focal data poll mentioned upthread
  4. We’re now in the silly season for polls. The late#t sideshow piece is this.
  5. Right, so is that what happened in 2019? The obviously winning Tory's had their manifestos promises more heavily scrutinised? The honest answer is no they didn't
  6. I'd send the sister in law if you promise to dispose of the body afterwards I am genuinely shocked there is a cultural event in Southampton, let alone one I might be tempted to go to
  7. There’s another camera angle of that somewhere and that massive crowd is nothing like a massive crowd. It’s about ten rows of seats and three seats either side of the aisle
  8. Talking of own goals... It's becoming a bit of a thing, even Thangam Debbonaire is getting in on it
  9. I've said some disarranging things about Tory comms in this election, I may even have suggested more than once that children are running the campaign. I'm actually convinced now though. We're down to junior school level now
  10. The responses are as you'd predict. The amount of (especially Tory) candidates that don't understand or realise the responses they'll get to SM posts is quite shocking really
  11. Must save a fortune on that ludicrous pot pourri shit having your house smelling of deliciousness all the time
  12. Not a chance in my opinion. I'm not even convinced the Tory Party will exist in the form we know it in 2 election cycles time. If it does exist it will be a minority party, the brand is utterly toxic I'm even more convinced now that in the next election the LibDems will become the opposition, it may even happen this time (but unlikely) Not only are the Tory Party facing the demographic timebomb (the pivot point between Tory and Labour is currently approaching 70 years old) but reversing the B word is going to become a bigger and bigger topic. That isn't saying Reform won't replace them but I also really don't see the two entities merging any time soon. (see other posts I've made recently on that issue) I just don't see it even with the press being favourable to them
  13. Sort of agree, sort of disagree. I certainly think the Tory and LibDem manifestos should get the same level of scrutiny, which they aren't
  14. See, if it is satire, you were taking the piss out of yourself
  15. That's fairy nuff but has nothing to do with the question asked The question being asked is why are none of the others receiving the same level of attention
  16. That's somewhat the opposite of the point that is being made here. The point (if I'm reading it correctly) is that of all the fiscal bodies that have examined the manifestos of the major parties, Labour's spending commitments are the least yet despite that, it is the one facing the most criticism from other parties and the media
  17. The Friarage is a building. Farage is a politician.
  18. Finest grandstanding, he's rattled. What is he going to sue the Daily Mail for? Quoting other people. Is he going to take Zelensky To court in Ukraine? He wants to make an enemy of the Daily Mail?
  19. Yes but there is also a downside to it and it’s big for him, he potentially loses control. He’d be leaving behind the total control that he has and taking on the mantle of a semi-democratic entity that very much could get rid of him. He can’t just buy the Tory Party and be the major shareholder with total power in full control. There’d be conferences and pesky members to overcome, there’d be troublesome Lords, party grandees and prominent activists. We're already seeing that the likes of Cleverly and others are determined to not allow Farage in. He also risks pissing off people currently on his own side. There are huge questions as to whether he can shift all his current support to supporting the Tories. Many will question it, many will suggest that he doesn’t need to do it (we’ve come this far without them, they can join us etc) I'm not sure all that combined with what he gains makes for a good strategic move for him. And that CCHQ machine… doesn’t look that good right now and after a heavy defeat will struggle to get the interns etc that it relies on.
