  1. Goes from black to grey in about 12 months Thats what we have
  2. That is not what I'm talking about, there is always a big churn in the industry, the due to the Pandemic is more because local councils are not recognising that they need to act faster to licence drivers. Drivers can be waiting up to a year to be licensed. The pandemic hit numbers for sure but it wasn't just because drivers found new jobs, many just plain and simple retired any lots of drivers with roots abroad just went home to be with their families but like I said that isn't the issue. Local councils are still working as if we are in lockdown in many places. Our local council only has 8 slots for new driver appointments a week because the staff that need to meet drivers face to face in a meeting that the council insist on are working from home and are showing little sign of changing this. Our local council is one of the largest in terms of taxi driver numbers. What the council is doing is quite frankly ludicrous. Also, Uber isn't cheap that has always been a fallacy. A fallacy that lost $6billion dollars in the first quarter of this year, That's 6 times its usual loss
  3. Can I guess it'll be the taxi trade and it'll probably be true too. There are approximately 50% less taxi drivers than there were at the start of the pandemic and it will more than likely take ten years to get those numbers back up. Until that situation is resolved shit customer service will exist and it will be because of the pandemic (and the lack of unemployment and that Local Councils are f***ing useless)
  4. There are two Beehive Pubs in the city centre. There's also two pubs called The Grapes (There actually used to be more) I suspect the Beehive you are talking about is the one on Mount Pleasant as the one in the middle of the pedestrianised area would never survive as card only If it is that one, I suspect it's just because it is an old school boozer run by an old school landlord who doesn't trust this new fangled technology. I don't think its a money laundering operation tbh. It's one of those pubs that seems to be full of regulars and no-one else
  5. I am never short of change, perk of the job
  6. I think we can dispense with your opinion then
  7. Nah thats Shane McGowan, Colm Meaney and Elton Welsby in an early incarnation of the Pogues
  8. Intersting thread on what getting the Blue Spear coastal missles to Odessa could do and bits about what Johnson and the UK Govt are attempting to do.
  9. Wordle 319 4/6* Another coulda been twofer
  10. You seem to have an awful lot of confusion here The Greens don't make policy in this country and aren't remotely in with a chance of doing so The whole point is that people believe in and understand the Russian sanctions but on the back of those increased prices the energy companies are making vast profits and the government is recieving much higher revenue for which the consumer who is paying those prices gets no relief and they should The famine predicted in some countries is because Ukraine supplies wheat to a lot of Middle Eastern countries, the simplest way to alleviate that is to get the Russians out of Ukraine There is nothing manufactured there unless you think some shady group of people put Russia up to this
  11. I think they pick on us on a particular day as has already been proved above.
  12. Yes thats 5 PMs and the President of the EU before Johnson that I found in no time at all, your point was that Johnson was the first. He absolutely wasn't. I also seem to remember others before him too
  13. Here's the President of the EU, the day before Johnson's visit, The Slovak PM was also in attendance as was the Austrian PM
  14. Yes but don't mistake this for an official statement because that isn't remotely close what it is.
  15. I'll come back to the other bits but Russia hasn't threatened this. A TV talking head i Russia has threatened this it's like saying Tucker Carlson said something so the US Government have threatened it Oh and France was threatened with being nuked days before us
  16. I'm not sure why you think he's the only one doing it and saying it, he isn't. Lots of leaders have visted Kyiv, he wasn't even remotely the first. Lots of leaders are also equally aggressive in what they say. Don't imagine for one minute that Scholtz and Macron are typical, they are very atypical
  17. People trust the Tories less on taxation, I'm not sure what else you think that says
  18. Yes, it's proposed as a one-off, adding means testing would be absolutely stupid
  19. Labour have been arguing for higher personal taxation for some time, so do the LibDems. Higher personal taxation is a left wing policy So it isn't an example of Labour being Tories, it's an example of Labour being Labour
  20. I wonder if those people would want their energy bills reduced now as a short term measure than say a few extra pennies a week whenever they retire?
