  1. West Oxfordshire is very interesting. 17 Wards. Tories lost 7 seats, 5 to LibDem, and 1 each to Labour and Green West Oxfordshire includes Witney which was the David Cameron seat Its gone from Tory to NOC with the LibDems being a firm second party
  2. Are they reporting the London elections separately?
  3. Beeb and Sky are saying that the Indie / Ratepayers that always win seats in council elections haven't lost any seats when they have, currently around 32
  4. If you look at Barnet + Wandsworth + Westminster. Those three councils are +39 for Labour on their own
  5. Guardian has Labour +91 and the error seems to be in unreported losses in the "Other column" ie Ratepayers / Indies who the guardian are reporting to be -34
  6. Another interesting result is Hull, where the LibDems won the council from Labour
  7. That isn't remotely correct. Labour are way higher than +38. As I type they are +91 and have been +70 since I woke up at 6am
  8. Yes but Wandsworth and Westminster have been Tory for a long time. Most voters in those councils will never have experienced a Labour administration. Those wins for Labour are hugely significant. Because of the way London councils elect all their seats in one go every 4 years and the rest of the country is voting on seats from 2018 (where Labour did well anyway) London was always going to be where the shocks were and for the Tories to lose its two flagship London councils is a significant moment you have to feel
  9. Labour won Wandsworth for the first time since 1978
  10. Murdoch doesn’t own Sky News. It’s owned by Comcast so its a sister channel to NBC and Euronews
  11. Nope, that’s social media, the biases it displays to the individual user are those of the user
  12. Which widely known media outlets do you consider to be left wing out of curiosity?
  13. Anyone done today's? This is where I am after two guesses and quite frankly I'm flumoxed I have every number and every operator I have the correct start number and the equals sign in the correct place, the rest are all the right numbers and operators in the wrong place It should be easy from here but I can't get it
  14. You aren't voting for Mayor of London, just Mayor of Croydon and that uses the supplimentary vote system so you get a first and secocond preference, thats it, the second preference only counts if you first choice is knocked out by having the least votes. SV is a half arsed sop to proper PR but its better than nothing Croydon COuncil elections are only held every four years and they elect all the councillors the same year. You aren't using ranked voting in those elections. If you had two votes they are two single votes because you are voting for two seats. In Croydon each ward can have 1,2 or 3 seats. Yours seems to have 2
  15. On the Poll trackers the Tories did get a bump from Johnson over Ukraine but that seems to be over again and the gap is diverging in Labours favour again EDIT: This time last year they were 9% behind, thats a swing of 15% in a year
  16. Well I was going to say I found that tough but not as tough as others it seems. Definitely a shit word though, I wasn't sure it was actually a proper word Wordle 320 5/6*
  17. There isn't actually that much Labour can gain from the 2018 wards up for grabs. 2018 was the year that UKIP dissappeared up their own rectum and Labour picked up 79 seats and the Libdems 76 with the Tories losing 35 and UKIP lost 123. The Greens made a modest 8 gains
  18. To be clear, I don't think it will be a big recovery but they will have a few more seats
  19. It's only my opinion but I see Labour doing well but not able to have a majority. The question is if they can do well enough to only have the LibDems as partners in a coalition. Given that there also seems to be some sort of unoffical electoral pact between Labour and the LibDems, I also expect the LibDems to win more seats than they currently have
  20. You live in Germany its normal behaviour. Soon you'll be putting a towel down to reserve your favourite armchair
  21. LibDems are possibly going to hold the balance of power again at the next General Election, they aren't as irrelevant as you imagine
  22. Even if the Tories lost every seat they'd still be the largest party. 17 wards and they have a majority of 18. They would have to lose every ward to go to no overall control (because I think theres also 1 vacant seat also up for grabs)
  23. I was talking about the block paving you're going for. Ours was black but had turned grey within 12 months Block paving is a pain in the arse in my opinion. Think of all the cracks that weeds grow through. If you pressure wash it you'll take out all the sand between the blocks and have to buy more kiln dried sand to brush over it to fill the gaps in again. The only way to combat that is to have it sealed, my advice would be to get it sealed but you'll have to redo that every few years as it doesn't last forever
