  1. Archaeological evidence - none Contemporaneous written evidence - none Written evidence starts to appear a few decades after his supposed death but these are Christian documents, the first non-Christian known to write about him is around 100 years after his supposed death
  2. They are a bit more technologically advanced these days
  3. It's actually mind boggling that you've arrived at that conclusion It is essentially their version of Remembrance Day. Turning a day of remembrance into a protest isn't really acceptable behaviour is it. The flags are banned for one day at 15 specific sites in Berlin, mostly Soviet War Memorials in the East of the city. It's not Germany, it's Berlin and it's for one specific day There's a lot to criticise Germany for in all this, this isn't one of them
  4. Why bother with the war crimes trial when you can just kill them in battle anyway. I'm sure Putin had the same idea too but for different reasons
  5. Aspire a political party formed in Tower Hamlets. A lot of councillors left the Labour Party and formed a new party called Tower Hamlets first or something like that but the party was disbanded when the were found to have committed electoral fraud and other electoral malpractices. The leader of this party used to be mayor of Tower Hamlets when he was Labour. IIRC the electoral fraud was to do with postal votes but I could be totally wrong. Can’t remember his name but Anthony mentioned him upthread and compared him to Derek Hatton and Joe Anderson in Liverpool I.e. corrupt as f***
  6. So Tower Hamlets voted in a party based on a party that committed election fraud when they were in the Labour Party and also voted in the head fraudster as mayor Wow
  7. So, after the NI results, Irish unity can't be far away now
  8. Never had a problem doing that, what's the issue?
  9. If only they made non-audiophile records in standard non gatefold sleeves and with at least 5 tracks to a side. 12 tracks these days is now a double album If they did that I wouldn't be looking at a new set of shelves
  10. If anyone can convince me that Burnley can overturn a 17 goals goal difference in 3 matches I'll reopen this
  11. Leeds elected an actual SDP councillor. They still actually exist!
  12. And the Guardians figures are still wrong even after taking the above post into account Newham in London. in 2018 it had 60 seats and all of the were Labour by the close of the council it had 60 seats with Labour having 58 of them as two councillors resigned from the Labour Group to sit as Independents. The new Council will have 66 seats Now there seems to be consensus that the result is Labour 64 and Green 2 The Guardian has this as Labour +7 when even by their accounting methods it is +6. It has Green as +2 (correct) and Indies as -3. (again incorrect should be -2)
  13. Impossible. He's not an MP and you have to be to be Leader of the Labour Party. He also can't be an MP and Mayor of Manchester as the role includes being Police and Crime Commisioner and you can't hold another elected position and be PCC
  14. Apart from the Elephant in the room that they really don't have anyone of the right calibre to replace him
  15. There's also how they take into account defections since last election It seems the Guardian feed is as follows Candidate elected as Labour in 2018, changes to Independent mid term, ward votes in Labour candidate again. Guardian is treating this as a Labour +1. I think the BBC etc are treating it as a 0 So the Guardian figures are changes on the composition of the council as it ended and not as elected Which also explains why the Others column in the Guardian figures has massive losses compared to BBC etc
  16. The Guardians are more wrong, they are using their gains column in each council to feed the counter at the top, trouble is the gains column is utter bobbins. Bridgend, they have down as a 6 seat loss for the Tories, it’s actually 10. Merthyr they have as a 2 seat loss for the local Indie loons that were in power, which correct but they have Labour as no gain when they are plus 2. Then I looked at a few English ones and a lot of those just didn’t add up. An awful lot of the gain columns don’t add up to zero, which they should unless there was also a by-election I'm not convinced the BBC and Sky are right either because the BBC was definitely wrong early on.
