  1. Depends on a whole bunch of circumstances. A mate of mine Roy is a bass player, he was in Black and when I say in Black, Colin Verncombe had him on a retainer to be in the band (much like Sharrock & Bell), he was in the second incarnation of the Icicle Works (so after Sharrock left), he'd have been paid by the record company but he still works with Ian McNabb now but I suspect he gets very little money for it because Ian's a mate and he really likes what Ian does. He's also played with Joan Armatrading around UK and Europe, which I guess was money driven, not that he didn’t enjoy it but not his thing either. He's played with Skin after Skunk Anansie split, that is more his thing but still, he wouldn’t have done it if the money wasn’t right. In between playing live he also tour manages bands or works as a promoters rep because he needs the money coming in when he's got nothing on You'd have to get to a. very high level before you could start getting that choosy I think
  2. Absolutely proved his week that they are the Scouse small heath Pitch invasion to celebrate not going down Racial Abuse from grannies at that game After the game they attacked a bus, not a footballl supporters bus even, the bog standard Arriva bus that was just working its route with passengers on board and today… Nice celebration They are 5-1 down and Man Citeh score the third so they start celebrating with blue flares going off because Liverpool aren’t going to win the league And yes they play in blue which is just perfect Oh and did I mention they haven’t got a pot to piss in? Scouse small heath
  3. Not been playing most of the week but decided to have a go again this morning Wordle 337 4/6*
  4. Glad I saw that before bed, it would have put me right off my Sunday breakfast
  5. This has very little to do with the country, it has far more to do wiith the batshit, kiddy fiddling, AIDS spreading, hate speeching religion he's a part of The only reason the Catholic Church isn't as vocal and active over abortion in the UK is because it would lose them income Just look across the Irish Sea or to Poland to see what they are like on this subject, if they think it won't affect the income stream, they'll preach their hate speech And why are they against abortion? Because they need to protect their future income streams It's all about indoctination from an early age so they can't be having people getting rid of future income
  6. Quite, it was also quite telling that she didn't go to the Polling Station with him for the elections the other week. That one is almost an unwritten rule
  7. Cerrone was as much of a master of the sequenced synthesiser disco track as Georgio Moroder Some interesting facts about this Disco classic. Unbelievably, the lyrics for this were written by an uncredited young Lene Lovich The lyrics are about the use of artificial chemicals in agriculture (so Lene was way ahead of her time in 1977!) Goldfrapp named her third album after this track
  8. You got this one @Seat68? A shtload (take that how you want) of Country records just appeared in the local Oxfam The Louvin Brothers - My Baby's Gone This one seems to sell for in excess of a tenner
  9. This is well and truly awful but for 25p in Oxfam, I just bought it for the amusement value. I can't even post the cover because it's has y'know, breasts on it Chinga Chavin - Country Porn Contain's such wonderful titles as Cum Stains on the Pillow, Sit Sit Sit (On My Face), Dry Humpin' in the Back of a '55 Ford and saving the best until last... Cum Unto Jesus Strange thing is, this shit is actually worth much more than I paid. Usually sells for around £9 Absolutely dreadful but amusing at the same time. One to play in the background at the church fete to see who notices
  10. Obviously you didn't go to town (mate)
  11. Which large parts of the country are these? This just isn't true. Russia is in control of far less of Ukraine than it was two months ago, even just in the Eastern Axis. Before this even started they were already in control of Crimea and large parts of Luhansk and Donbas, those aren't gains from this war They used to control a big chunk on the Northern Border up to and beyond Sumy, they are currently being pushed back across the border from Kharkiv and then to the west towards Donbas too They haven't advanced on any of the other fronts for the best part of a month. Any gains Russia makes are usually very small and temporary, the direction of travel has been backwards for quite some time
  12. Well, there's another interesting development today. You know the Russians tried to cross the Seversky Donnets River three times and got blown up all three times, well todays story is that Ukraine now have a sizable amount of troops on the Russian side. The source for that story is Arestovic but there's no other confirmation yet
  13. Expect there to be loud bang at some point. Ukraine are now announcing in advance that Russians have parked a shit load of equipment at Kherson Airport
  14. I’m calling foul on 6Music here. They had a 25 years of OK Computer day to mark the anniversary of its release And after hearing bits I wanted to listen to the whole thing when I got in. Where’s the foul? Well mine is a promo copy of the cd. Here it is and a huge sticker on The back says …. So it might actually be the 25th anniversary of when I first heard it but the anniversary of release is a few weeks away yet EDIT: Turns out it was released on 21st May in Japan but 16th June in UK and 1st July in USA. Jeez remember when worldwide releases weren't co-ordinated. Very odd to have Japan first, traditionally the home territory came first
  15. Microdisney put it better
  16. The story of The Crucial Three. A band that consisted of three lead singers. McCulloch, Cope and Wylie (Bunnymen, Teardrops and Wah) They either played 1 gig or 0 But from that group came the song Read It In Books performed by both the Bunnymen and the Teardrop Explodes. McCulloch credited as the writer on the Bunnymen version and Cope on the Teardrops one All three of don't get on True story, a few years back my ex-business partner was curating a couple of nights at a city festival that was the celebrate the Liverpool Live scene focussing on the Erics Club, from whence all three met and formed the Crucial Three and their proper bands He had an agreement with all three of them to perform together as The Crucial three. This would have been an absolute show stealer as no one has managed to get the three together before. He had their tacit agreement to do this and to perform but the whole thing soon fell apart. No this wasn't the usual musical differences, it fell apart because they all wanted to be named first on the poster. Bunch of f***ing children
  17. Nah more likely to be refrigeration related
  18. I have the Limited Edition first gawd knows how many copies with the free interview disc And musically he's from Liverpool
  19. C'mon folks, famous vegan-nazi Morrissey is also a famously republican
  20. Sorry, that is a Russian bum cleaning device
  21. Hitler was 1.75 meters tall. Putin is 1.7 meters tall, there is a difference. Coincidentally, Bonaparte was 1.68 meters tall
