  1. It’s pretty much across the board wherever you look. It was announced by Arestovic over a day ago, he claimed that Ukraine was withdrawing from the city which apparently the Russians believed.Ukraine then took back a good chunk of the city. British Intelligence pronouncements make the BBC seem like breaking news, they are somewhat delayed with reality and generally tell you nothing you didn’t already know. They were still talking about the Kyiv withdrawal a couple of days ago
  2. The LNR / DNR forces are mainly around Kherson, so they are taking losses right now as the Ukrainian forces advance there Its also interesting that the Chechens took a good whalloping because until recently they were the enforces behind the lines making sure people got shot if the retreated / refused to fight but there have been rumours that Khadyrov isn’t Putin’s favourite warlord any more The main body of Russia. forces are in that middle section in Severodonetsk. They’ve chucked everything they have spare at that thrust and are currently going slowly backwards
  3. Well I’ve already got her a leather bus pass holder
  4. You have a lot to learn in life. Spending weeks making a papier-mâché dinosaur for your wife’s birthday required a lot of effort but did she appreciate it? Nope My missus has what she’s wanted to do for a long time, she’s very happy and it came about by fluke because her and the daughter were planning on getting really early and doing the queuing thing for returns and they were just on the Wimbledon website looking for info on that and spotted the tickets. Too good an opportunity to miss and she knew I’d happily pay for her to do this. The bonus is I still have my plan in reserve for next year. She actually just wants it be a normal birthday, doesn’t want to be reminded how old she is
  5. Spotted tonight on my travels. West Lancs doing Madge proud
  6. It is because supermarkets are heavily buying into petrol stations. I’m literally sat in my car about 200 meters away from a BP petrol station that is also a Marks and Spencer’s. Down the road in Waterloo there’s a Shell garage that has recently started also being a Co-Op Theres a mark up on the prices but if you are late home from work it is very convenient. Sometimes it’s great to annoy people by buying loads of stuff and holding up the queue of idiots that could have paid for their fuel at the pump
  7. I have this Ltd edition copy of Real Real Real in this stupid envelope sleeve and it has badges and stickers inside. Clearly bought for DJing purposes and not once does it appear to have got anywhere near a needle Its worth about 50p even in mint condition
  8. Vauxhall Conference PWEI - the Grebo Blythe Spartans But mentions ov Psychic TV remind me that there seem to be a fair few people that want to give the word removed that was Genesis P Orridge money by covering Godstar. Surely there’s nicer word removeds songs you can cover. He was only a few steps removed from Charles Manson ffs
  9. Remember to leave it on charge by the window every day when you leave for work, just so the burglars know you've bought a TV that no-one wants

    Energy Bills

Might get you as far as Nottingham before you need more
  11. Oh I didn’t have it down as something you’d like in the first place

    Energy Bills

Yep that’s the diesel price here, shot up in the last few days. Tesco still 179.9I know where I’m feeling up for tonight’s shift
  13. You've clearly never been subjected to Bake Off
  14. Cock smoke aside, is Madge dead? That flag is at half mast It's also reminded me of some absolutely condescending horseshit some BBC reporter came out with on the radio yesterday In reference to the Jubilee Beacons being lit around the world yesterday, aparently in Canada all the beacons were in the shape of a maple leaf "...because the Maple Leaf is 'deeply symbolic' to the Canadian People" Well that was some reveleation to me, I was deeply thankful for that, I'd never have realised the Maple Leaf meant anything to Canada without hearing that I suspect there are previously undiscovered tribes in the Amazon that were just as amazed by this snippet as I was. Absolutely in awe of her knowledge I was
  15. The idea that a shower saves water when you have to squeeze yourself into the bath is rather fanciful
  16. You might dig this @chrisp65 Flying Mojito Brothers - Greatest Hits (1970 - 1983) Cosmic American Disco A couple of DJs completely reimagining the likes of The Doors, Steely Dan, CSNY, Santana, Waylon Jennings and more The constant disco beat is not as annoying as you would imagine. (Other contributors to this thread may be horrified) It definitely isn't for everyone though. It's a highly iffy self-release, there's absolutely no credits on it at all and is sold as a limited edition for "promotional DJ use only"
  17. Shouldn't this be in Rogues Gallery?
  18. The missus is 60 this month and I had this idea of her present but I'd not really done my research yet, there was still plenty of time and it was on the to do list this weekend I wake up this morning to find that last night whilst I was at work she managed to buy two centre court tickets for the opening day of Wimbledon, which is something she's always wanted to do. I just have to pay for them Result! Save's me a load of grief trying to organise what I was going to do, she's very happy to be going and... our daughter is going with her so I don't even have to go Also, todays chores were to be in the garden, mowing the lawn and pressure washing the patio and it's pissing it down and forecast to be like that all day, so thats impossible I have absolutely nothing to do today. I feel a long soak in the bath is in order
  19. Better still... orf with their heads
  20. Not really related to your post Chris, it just triggered me as something that I realised, The 20% figure quoted by Zelensky includes Crimea and the areas of Donbas and Luhansk that Russia has effectively controlled since 2014 I realise why Zelensky said it because it's basically true, he's trying to pressure for more and more weapons and it sends a message on the home front too. I completely understand this But it also has a different effect to the more casual observer of the situation. It sounds like Russia are making much bigger gains than they actually are, When the reality is that the front line has basically stalled for weeks and the Russians control much less of Ukraine than they did a few months ago. There's been a complete retreat in the western Belarusian axis, The area around Kharkiv and Sumy has largely been liberated. Russia is in slow retreat around Kherson. Apart from the middle bit of the eastern front centrered around Severodonetsk the Russians are not advancing at all. The Russian effort is all in the middle and they are taking heavy losses for every KM they take and Ukraine is still capable of outflanking Russian advances and taking gains back like they have been around Popansa Anyway, my point is, the 20% figure can be a bit misleading as to the state of play
  21. If its got gravy on it its dinner, if not its tea Gravy with battered fish is obviously not an official meal and an obvious sign of psychosis PS - Tea comes from afternoon tea which is a light meal of sandwiches and or cakes taken between luncheon and evening meal - cricketers break for tea in the afternoon because they are stopping the game to have afternoon tea, the meal names the break in play not the other way around
  22. Might have something to do with one of the salesmen being a world famous sweaty nonce
