  1. US Rules are not UK rules. UK Rules are still EU rules on this as they haven't had their big bonfire yet iirc if flights are grounded due to "acts of god" the compo doesn't kick in.
  2. Oh f*** Johnson just said he has a bigger mandate that he did when he won I'm even more conflicted
  3. Mad Nad in her car crash with Beth Rigby this morning said "No-one votes for divided parties"
  4. Which also leaves him very short of loyal replacements should there be resignations, forced or otherwise
  5. They will but am I right in thinking that a Labour VONC in parliament will be non binding and the Tories can actually whip the party to not attend. They already did that didn't they, or did that go when they repealed the fixed term parilament act?
  6. @DavkausThe Welsh Secretary just said that... "only 51.1% voted for the Prime Minister in the leadership election and now he's secured 60% of the Parliamentary party" I'm conflicted that he agrees with me
  7. I think you can rule out Sunak at this stage, he got fined in Partygate. You can't have Johnson forced out and then vote in someone else who was fined. Well they could but they'd be mad
  8. It's quite telling that there are fairly large number of MPs who aren't declaring their intentions Also there may be some who publically state one thing for their constituents though actually voted the other way (on both sides of the debate)
  9. Edward Heath went from -98 to +30 in 1970 Haeold Wilson went from -100 to +4 in 1964 But closer to now Tony Blair went from -21 to +179 1997 Cameron went from -66 to +78 So it has happened but more importantly much bigger swings in numbers of seats have happenned and quite recently
  10. A Tory leadership campaign takes almost forever, if he'd gone a few weeks ago, you absiolutely would not have a new party leader yet
  11. More right wing policies happens whether Johnson stays or goes, because Tories are Tories and they are in power If Johnson stays, however, The Tories are very likely at this stage to lose the next election
  12. It takes over an hour to count 359 votes Is Mad Nad doing the counting? Or maybe Liz Truss...
  13. You aren't the first to mention this. I've never accepted it. NEVER!
  14. Its all the same argument. Johnson wasn't that popular in the party, he won but he didn't win by huge margins
  15. No, in the first round 64% of his electorate chose not to vote for him. It doesn't matter how many of the opposition it took to reach his figure. The larger part of the party didn't vote for him in the first round Like I said above by way of comparison, May won over 50% of the votes from her electorate in the first round
  16. No, it is Teresa May won on the second round with over 60%, she was over 50% on the first ballot, Johnson was 36% in the first round
  17. Boris Johnson won 51.1% of the MPs votes in the fifth round of voting That is as slim as victory as possible
  18. John Lamont, PPS to Liz Truss resigns to vote against Johnson
  19. yeah the first one is, it was rather rushed, I think I remember reading
  20. I was at Uni with Vic Derbyshire, she used to be quite a good friend of mine. She's been an excellent journalist at the BBC for years. I suspect whe isn't well liked by the plants upstairs
