  1. He has to be careful so as not to lose the Tory majority But its definitely an interesting ploy
  2. I think its more a reticence to change the rules because they think the rule is right Why they can't find 50% of the party to back a VONC right now is beyond my understanding, that would be the simplest approach but again there seems a reticence to do this too I think they hope he'll be pushed but I have this feeling he'll force them to rip the party apart and as it says above, he'll get the whole summer recess to continue being PM and change enough minds (he's that deluded) Part of me really hop[es that is the case
  3. Its the committee itself not all the backbench MPs that can change the rules. Thats why they need to change the committee itself first
  4. Nope, it's still one whip not two different whips Now if they decide to go against the whip, then it really does get interesting because he can suspend MPs from the Party for defying the whip
  5. BBC in thick as F shocker They have to change the committee, in order to change the rules in order to get a new VONC
  6. Not that its going to matter any more and will just get lost but...
  7. Me too, the only thing stopping me thinking that is that Gove appears to be the only person in the world unaware of his own lack of popularity
  8. That fish looks like it deserves beans and wtf is that lemon, given its sliced off centre, it must be the worlds thinnest lemon
  9. Not a chance of that IMO It's hard to judge which group hates him more in percentage terms. Tory MPs / Tory Members / Tory Voters / The Electorate If Truss can't get enough votes I hope to hell it is Gove (it won't be)
  10. Isn't there a report out yesterday that says it's costing us £100b a year to not have access to the market. I think it may have been lost in the Johnson stuff, iirc its the governments own figures too
  11. If he survives, I'll open a bottle of red, have a little chuckle and keep a wry smile on my face all week
  12. I think there's a misconception that its the same 40% that don't vote each time
  13. Absolutely agree that this is the Labour Party logic, I just think it is flawed. I don't even think it's tactically sound, they are fighting for the votes at the far end of the Tory voting spectrum, they should be concentrating on the votes at the near end of that range. Europhiile not phobe if you like. And they are the hardest votes to win Labour as well as the Tories are actually pushing people to vote for the LibDems. It's quite a strange tactic. I'm sure they've done their constituency by constituency research and only they know what that says but it just seems like very flawed logic to me and seems to be somewhat obsessed with retaking particular seats and I think in the current climate, a lot of those seats would naturally come back to Labour anyway. Firstly because a lot of those "Brexit Type" voters won't even vote next time around and secondly because this Govt is such a F*** Up
