Depends how you view it I think.
Badenoch is a right wing nutter on principal
Braveman is just a lunatic with no brains
Truss is the continuity Johnson candidate I think (and watch her rise in the grassroots standings when this becomes apparent)
Mordaunt is just a Union Jack
Sunak appears to be a very Marmite character in the party and the grassroots
Zahawi, Tugendhat and Hunt are also rans I think (as is Braverman fwiw)
So 8 through to the next (absolutely pointless) stage of getting to 30 signatures
Sunak, Truss, Tugendhat, Braverman, Zahawi, Mordaunt, Hunt and Badenoch
Hard to say and we don't know if the lists are accurate because really only the proposer and seconder's names are made public. Plus last time the initial bar was only 8 MPs.
Its all guesswork at this stage but there'll be a degree of knowing how right they are later on I guess when we get the list of those that move on to the next stage
Truss appears to be over the 20 line now
Guido Fawkes has it as Sunak (46), Mordaunt (27) Truss (22), Tugendhat (20), Badenoch (18), Zahawi and Hunt (14), Javid and Braverman (both 12) and that other bloke (0)
The Telegraph has Tugendhat on 21 fwiw
Thats 185 MPs out of a total of 358, so there's lots of hand sitting still going on
Anyone know when the deadline is?
There a bar I go in every now and again in town that has 6 individual cubicles. 3 have a man sign 3 have a woman sign. No one takes a blind bit of notice of the sign
Cummings is probably right, just wait until the field of Tory Leader candidates is down to two and one of them declares that they intend to make Johnson Minister of State to Lead the Free World.
No, he's resigned as leader of the Tory Party, he can't unresign. And the VONC has no bearing on the leadership of a party.
The VONC is no confidence in the Government. Johnson is still the Prime Minister.
I was pointing this out only the other day and... well look upthread and see for yourself
And I presume that this was a state school. The vast majority of religious schools in this country are already part of the state system
Come to Liverpool, its extremely hard to find a school that isn't religious.
