I think that was a lot of people's reaction, I'm fairly sure a lot of people did just that I also remember stupid news stories of Native American's being hired to perform rain dances
  2. No, what is weak is attempting to claim someone has said something they haven't It's not pedantic because its substantially different and if you can't realise how important that is then you need to think again. RIght now what you did is either PFE or comprehension failure. Giving you the benefit of the doubt makes it the latter.
  3. Don't fool yourself, the whole point of him standing was to raise his profile. He's also still a Tory who wants to do Tory things
  4. You've invented that, it wasn't said in the post you are quoting There is what was said, it's substantially different to what you claimed it said
  5. No, absolutely doesn't. It's owned by Comcast. Comcast is the second largest Broadcast and Telecoms provider in the world. Fox / Murdoch is very much a smaller rival. Comcast is not the darling of the right that Fox is. In the US it's stable includes the bete noire of the right wing, the incredibly "woke" MSNBC Since it changed hands the News reporting on Sky has been much more balanced than it ever was when owned by Murdoch
  6. Some people would actually enjoy that because it gives them something else to moan about on Faceache and Twanker
  7. Its not even FPTP It's Last Past The Post for as many rounds as required to get the candidates down to 2, then it's FPTP Just commenting on the methodology regardless of what the election is, its fricking insane It's like they were stoned when someone explained STV to them and they went off on a wild tangent that made perfect sense whilst someone was still passing the doobie around. Some idiot actually wrote it down and they didn't think about it ever again
  8. tbh that might be a Youtube issue. YT has been crashing my browsers for 2 days
  9. It's what they wanted. It just highlights how monumentally stupid this bunch of words removed actually are Their whole Leadership process is as usual a fudge, a compromise and completely illogical, like pretty much everything they do. It's the perfect way for the country to see how amazingly divided, inept and stupid the Tory Party is The aura of the Tory Party always showing a united front is bust wide open. They should be made to do it this way every time
  10. Or is it a case of Job done! Sunak vs Truss to go to membership, Truss to win. They may just be thinking they've got their prefered matchup and winner in the bag.
  11. The Tory Party's desire to self immolate I think the theory goes that there is a public interest and given that politicians absolutely crave any chance to talk bollocks to their people they like the bunch of deadheads they are fell for it Judging frm the bits I've seen (which isn't a lot) The Tory Party just decided to put themselves to the sword last night
  12. This for some unexplained reason popped up on my Spotify last week I think it's great even if he is channeling his inner Aidan Moffat I set out to listen to the rest of the album, lasted about 5 more tracks, he's channelling Rod Stewart for the rest, the bad Rod Stewart but this track is great

    Weather...

Was the hottest temperature recorded yesterday higher than 35.9 C ? No, the highest recorded temperature yesterday was 33.0 C in Hawarden and that is the hottest day and highest temperature recorded this year, so yesterday when I said that 1976 was hotter, I was absolutely correct, we will see later if it does get hotter than 1976, I suspect it will but as it stands right now its not been hotter than 1976 For the record, the current highest temperature recorded in the UK is 38.7 C
  15. Those are the tourists, the natives are still using a pony and cart and the tax exiles just buy a new car and say its a company vehicle by sticking an advert on the exhaust pipe
  16. That last quote doesn't really relate to just NI does it? that's the BBC's spin
  17. Given how small Sunak is, how did he manage to find a jacket thats still 4 sizes too small?
  18. Nope she was president of the Oxford University LibDems in her final year at Uni, the same year she made the Republican speech at their conference. Then she left Uni and became a Tory (almost overnight it would seem)
  19. Johnny Cash was the first person outside of the Soviet Union to know about the death of Stalin Did you know that one @Seat68?
