  1. Not really but I own odd tracks on compilations only. Having most of the Can / Neu! that I want to own it was time to move onto another so between you and the radio this morning providing nudges today I'm listening to PV. That comp will also help The Soundtrack album's guitar work reminds me very much of Brum's own Lawrence's first Felt album Crumbling the Antiseptic Beauty from 1982 When this sountrack finishes I'll move on to that compilation Much appreciated! EDIT: Where is that streaming btw? Not on Spoty or Bandcamp
  2. Popul Vuh were on the radio this morning, so they were already in my head for listening to whilst I'm ploughing through data, so I put this on as Krautrock / Soundtrack is ticking boxes. Also seems to be a few reasonably cheap copies on Discogs in the UK so it may go on my want list

    Energy Bills

The price rise is due to the dollar / Sterling exchange rate. If the government hadn't f***ed the pound the prices may actually have fallen further I do agree about the inertia in prices falling, quick to go up, slow to go down
  4. There is a Musk reply tweet where he claims that this is exactly what he's doing. Or should I say, following the advice of the Ukrainian Ambassador to germany I can't post it because the original tweet it is replying to contains the unfiltered swear
  5. Autumn booster booked for Monday
  6. The larger the projected majority, the less chance that will happen but on the point itself I agree. If its there they get my vote, if its not, they won't. I live in a safe Labour seat anyway so I have no allusions to my non-Labour vote affecting any result.

    Energy Bills

I suspect it's more to do with the Sterling / Dollar exchange rate this time
  8. It means that 9 in 10 are somewhat engaged in politics for once
  9. Yep, why would they need to be by a NATO border? Long range bombers don't need to be close to any potential front. If Putin thought NATO were going to attack Russia, why would you put one of your few remaining expensive resources in reach of the supposed enemy
  10. Some poor sod is threatening to throw himself off a motorway bridge and I’m stuck on M62. I only jumped onto the motorway to get home quicker, not moved in 45 min. That’s just unfortunate and I feel sorry for whoever it is. Whats pissing me off is the fact the police were alerted to this at 7:45. I didn’t get on the motorway until 9:30. Why on earth could they not shut the motorway in that time? Not a warning sign or anything in evidence.
  11. X-Ray Spex - X-Ray Spex Original pressing, owned from new, vinyl still in absolutely great shape (Cover not exactly bad for a 44 year old record) There was an old Peel session on the radio the other night and it prompted me to get this out. Bloody great band and perfectly only made one album (the first time around). Poly Styrene left and they reinvented themselves as Classix Nouveaux Often forgotten in the punk retrospectives but they shouldn't be, lots of punks copied the different coloured dayglo socks thing
  12. It's a Dutch imposter these days
  13. Someone has been getting careless with the cigarettes again in Belgorod. Some really careless smokers in that city
  14. and anyway, I'll see your cheese and pineapple on a stick and raise you a vol-au-vent for the ultimate in sophisticated '70s party food
  15. The Wedding Present - The Hit Parade - 30th Anniverary Edition In 1992 the Weddoes released a ltd edition single every month for a year. The A side was an original composition and the B side was a cover Each single charted in the Top 40 and equalled a record set by Elvis in 1957 of having 12 Top 40 hits in a year April 1992 they released Flying Saucer, one of my absolute favourite Weddoes tracks made better by the fact it samples a UFO from the Gerry Anderson series UFO. The Theme Tune of UFO was later a cover on the B Side of the penultimate release in the series The cover of Theme from Shaft is also a favourite
  16. You are confusing dinner party with buffet
  17. CBS News from May 2019 (and that was about Measles) You can genuinely put the blame at Putin's door on quite a few issues that have dominated Western Media in the last ten years. The Russian disinformation campaign has run rampant through Western society. His trolls have exploited any minor issue and amplified them way beyond their relevance until they've become the debate. They've meddled in elections, they've funded extremist parties and views... Brexit, Trump, Anti-vax, Tory Party, Farage, Galloway you name it they've been pushing views that attempt to destabilised Western society. They even push the other side of the debate to amplify it beyond what it naturally would be. Putin really is the bogeyman
  18. Russia / Putin trolls also responsible
