  1. The Oliver Dowden defence of SUnak appointing WIlliamson on Sunday was risible Essentially it was, The PM new about the complaint but not about the content of the texts when he appointed him. Wait, what, he knew there was a complaint but didn't bother to find out what it was about? Erm, that's either basic incompetence or not giving a shit. And it's the later of the two. Williamson ran his leadership campaigns, so Sunak owes him, not only that but given Williamsons obvious personality deficiencies, he can't afford to have him on the backbenches pissed off because he'll cause absolute carnage for Sunak Then there's the female cabinet minister, as reported in The Times yesterday, that is claiming WIlliamson threatened her personal life in some way when she was on the back benches and he was Chief Whip. Oh and then there's the senior civil servant who is claiming WIlliamson told him/her to slit their throat when he was Defence Secretary... Meanwhile Braverman is being forgotten about
  2. Oh I've posted it before, more than once but sometimes, you just got to I think Marc RIley describes this as the best debut LP ever, it's hard to disagree The competing dual guitars of Tom Verlaine and RIchard Lloyd are a blueprint for so much that followed in their wake. Often described as Punk Rock record, is it shite It's the cornerstone of post-punk and it was released months before Never Mind the Bollocks. It's influenced so much since it was released, that what is known as Alternative Music probably would exist without it. A major influence on Joy Division, REM, The Pixies. The Bunnymen and even the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Sadly The Edge also thought he was imitating Television, how, when the whole point of the guitars are that they aren't compressed with effects. I have no idea but that isn't anyones fault but his own A record I cannot live without Television - Marguee Moon from 1977
  3. This Russian attack on Pavlivka in Donetsk sounds horrendous The Ukrainians more than repelled the attacks (three waves apparently), they've wiped out an awful lot of the Russian troops and armour. Estimates of between 500-700 men gone and it's not just the mobiks who are clueless, the were some really quite experienced troops wiped out, the 155th Brigade of Marines appears to have very few troops left. There are countless videos of tanks being blown up by a variety of means, artillery, mines, RPGs. Ukrainian troops were in a trench they dug down one side of the road, the RUssians hadn't even seen it, they just pop up with RPGs and boom, troops trudging across open fields turned into sunflower food This was also supposedly well planned RUssian operation to attack the Ukraine position. With planners like that, who needs enemies An absolute slaughter just to give Putin the win he so wants but still didn't manage it. When you piece all the reports together its just shocking how bad Russia are at fighting and its costing them dearly I'm not going to post the videos but there re lots of them out there
  4. Oh man, thats a kicker, the original 6 Marshal Law comics were just brilliant
  5. Yes, I agree. But the whole free speech narrative is bullshit in the first place, it's just a handle to hang his bad purchase on. I think, he's looking at making his money back ASAP, he knows he stuffed up buying it at the price he did and that is a huge ask but he really needs to because his buyout is guaranteed by his Tesla holding, the price of which is also tanking since he announced his Twitter purchase in April. Sacking 75% of the moderation team isn't going to help him rid the platform of all the non-stated parody accounts
  6. tbh, I think banning non stated parody accounts is fair game, regardless of his motives
  7. No he isn’t, he’s banning accounts that don’t state they are a parody
  8. At least some thing worked in my favour this weekend, Captaining Kane over Haaland Oh and a nice 12 from Zaha. Trippier got 12 too but thats not really a diffferential in our league
  9. Stop shouting at him, can't you see he's asleep!
  10. So close to a two! Wordle 505 3/6*
  11. IMO Ukraine Will just hold the line at the Dnipro. Then they'll concentrate attacks through Zaporizhzhia down to the Black Sea / Sea of Azov in an attempt to split the Russian occupied territory and further kill the supply routes to Crimea and the area below the Dnipro Also, I wouldn't shocked to see them try a sneak attack across the widest part of the Dnipro, those 40 armoured boats the US are supplying had to be for something and I'm really not sure it was to attack Crimea with
  12. I heard she was very ill. Absolutely heartbreaking. Time to put a LOW album on
  13. Thread about the defences the Russians are building on the East Bank of the Dnipro (he gets the banks wrong) More in the thread Also, nothing to do with the Twitter thread but people keep saying that Russia will blow up the Dam if they leave Kherson, they won't because it is the east bank, the bank they'll be evacuating to, that will flood as Kherson is built on a hill
  14. From the Lion's Mouth - The Sound Probably the 80s most underappreiated Post-Punk / Early Indie band Adrian Borland 's band should have been spoken of with the same reverence as the Bunnymen and The Cure. That they weren't was something of a tragedy and ultimately played a part in Borland commiting suicide years later. This their second album produced by the band and Hugh Jones at Rockfield is a fantastic piece of work Even now, you never hear this on the radio, you really should
  15. A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat. A finger of fudge is just enough until it's time to eat. It's full of Cadbury goodness But very small and neat A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat.
  16. Can you point me in the direction of these content-creators on other platforms who are currently criticising Musk's Twitter buyout and subsequent strategy? I've genuinely seen none of them doing this and if they are, I'd imagine it's because they don't want Twitter to disappear because they realise it will affect them personally and they can see the platform will be the worse for it, especially if it goes down. They wouldn't be Twitter's enemies, they'd be concerned users and advocates of the platform.
