  1. That isn't what we're talking about though, we're talking about contained Metro systems, Metro systems are heavy rail not light. Metro systems also have a high frequency of services (12-15 minutes per service isn't high frequency) Anyway public transport systems in the UK outside of London are generally poor, I think we can all agree on that
  2. Bring your single mother to school day
  3. I'll agree that it's debatable but it's still an every 15 minute service and it does share links with the NRN (They share platforms at Sunderland). It's also run on mostly old NRN lines The trains do run on some NRN lines and therefore the rolling stock has to have a TOPS classification (Class 599 - the new trains will be Class 555)
  4. Rail Network is utterly broken The frequency of the trams isn't good I have no experience of the buses tbh
  5. Eh? The Cotswolds are a range of hills formed from limestone
  6. Birmingham probably has the second best public transport system in England
  7. It's not an enclosed system, its part of the National Rail Network (as is Liverpool's Merseyrail). As a result of that the trains are too infrequent to count as Metro systems
  8. When did you transition?
  9. France is always a good comparison to the UK due to their similar populations France has 6 enclosed Urban Metro Systems (Paris, Lille, Lyon, Marseilles, Rennes. Toulouse) The UK has 2 and the one in Glasgow is a 10km long circular line and is under half the size of any of the French ones Italy has 7 (also similar population size) Even your country has 2! (Amsterdam, Rotterdam)
  10. There is actually an English Breakfast Society, founded in 2012
  11. Supposedly Lavabread and cockles, though there is also an argument for Glamorgan Sausage (Cheese and leeks in breadcrumbs) No one eats that for breakfast in Wales
  12. Scottish and Irish offer improvements There's no such thing as a traditional Welsh Breakfast, it's invented for tourists. Anyone that thinks people in Wales are eating Lavabread and cockles with their fry up probably believes in fairies at the bottom of the garden and that the Tories are doing a good job with the economy
  13. Someone always takes a joke tooooooooooo far
  14. There's an easy solution to these problems
  15. Always a favourite topic of mine As the year is approaching it's end, new releases become scarce, it's time to reflect and post your favourite albums released this year. Only albums first released in 2022 are eligible. Post as many or as few as neccessary, lists are acceptable of any number. This topic will open on 1st December
  16. Its. Not. December. Yet. Have you no shame (as it happens I was about to start it but hide it to open on 1st December)
  17. Means testing something like this usually costs more in administration than the money it would save by giving it to everyone of a certain age
  18. Damn sure I've posted this before. It's almost time for the Albums of the Year thread and this one is an absolute shoe in for my list Melody's Echo Chamber - Emotional Eternal She got attention with the first album, the second one was ok , showed development but this third album is absolutely superb, she's nailed it. This album really deserves more attention than it's getting.
  19. No, he's laughing because the entire previous page before your post is filled with puns about Irene Cara passing away
