Just returned from Bill Ryder-Jones at District in Liverpool
Good gig, some old songs and some new material from the album out late spring next year
A bit of humour, this song was about a bad break-up that tore me apart but now it's about Richarlison
A full venue was still absolutely baltic (appropriate for where it is)
The guy is a real talent. That they had to put on the adverts Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) is a bit insulting really, he left the band 15 years ago and has a fine body of work in his own right. Noy only that but he's even produced one of the best albums of the year (Michael Head's latest)
Support was provided by Sweet Baboo another under the radar musician whose worked with Gryff Rhys, Cate Le Bon, H. HAwkline and Euros Childs. He had to leave the gig before BRJ played because he's due back in Cardiff to work on the next Euros Childs album
Thoroughly enjoyable night
Oh and best of all, no sodding encores
