  1. It's not Champagne /pedant
  2. Highly irritated. I can’t get past my irrational dislike of her accent, the fact that he upper face hardly moves (even her mouth doesn’t move that much) she's like one of those waxworks that has a face projected onto them and her complete Labour ming vase robotic language. She makes Wes Streeting seem like a human being and makes me think Angela Rayner actually has a personality when she’s being interviewed. Even the opening icebreaking question was answered with “When Kier Starmer…” It’s like someone forgot to turn her OS updates back on on July 5th.
  3. Mercury Rev - All Is Dream A masterpiece from 2001. Not sure they ever bettered this
  4. The CDing continues The Warlocks - Phoenix from 2003 when Garage Psych wasn't quite as fashionable as it is today. Not groundbreaking by any means but certainly helped influence the revival massively.
  5. And the really high earners at 45% you'd hope There’s a lot talked about bankers bonuses that isn’t really true. There used to be a cap of 200% of salary which Liz Truss /Kwasi Kwarteng scrapped. The reasoning behind that was that the cap just pushed basic wages higher and higher to compensate and at least the bonuses were performance related. But nearly half of those bonuses goes back to the exchequer in tax. The headline is always Banker X gets £1m bonus, it never says Banker X's bonus nets HMRC £450,000. The top line always makes for better headlines. What needs to be changed is the Private Equity Managers bonuses as they pay much less tax, around 28% because they are taxed like Capital Gains Tax. I think Labour had it in their manifesto to address this loophole.
  6. It’s what the pay review body recommended, not sure anyone has said it'll be that high yet. All Reeves has said is above inflation rises. Inflation is currently 2%. It was interesting to hear her talk sense on the cost of ongoing industrial action and negotiating all the time. They clearly want to end that, as they must if the NHS is going to improve and get the waiting lists down. Aside from that she was talking about the 2 child cap, she was essentially saying get off your arse and work if you want more money because of the breakfast clubs and the 100,000 new nursery places there are less barriers for parents of young children to work. The Labour Party really is trying to distance itself from what it deems to be the workshy.
  7. Just go with Saliba instead of White for a start. Gabriel and White have a bigger minutes risk this season I think. Extra £0.5 on White is a waste IMO. Definitely Roger’s over Philogene
  8. Anyone remember Hotdog magazine? Me neither Anyway, I must have bought at least one issue Its really not a bad Sunday morning compilation.
  9. I've been in a bit of a CD mode this weekend and this morning's first choice is… One of those strange CDs that people will actually pay money for according to Discogs
  10. It’s obviously a work of genius, as prompted by this discussion I put the studio sides on this morning. Side 2 was on as the missus arrived in the living room for the first time this morning. WTF is this awful racket, you can turn this shit off for starters! Back in the heavy rotation pile it goes
  11. The latest in the ongoing series of I'm shocked they were still alive… Ray Reardon, pro Snooker player from the dark ages of the 70s and 80s has passed away
  12. Nah, he doesn’t give shit about her. She’s out there trying to attach herself to the grift, trying to be relevant and failing miserably, she’s talking to empty rooms
  13. Only to a non-Brit. Broken up from school is standard English
  14. I had a go. I really don’t like it. Much rather have Ollie / Palmer & Saka than Haaland / Palmer OR Saka Id also rather have all my other players I had to compromise on too
  15. @fightoffyour You think I'm joking.... London Economic The tactic even had a name... Operation Cinnamon Bun
  16. Yes but they are one of the parties, my point is that they will have known all that already, that isn't the reason they've pulled out. They are even going to continue lending them money according to the statement
  17. They are the ones that have been lending the money I thought
  18. The LibDems targeted every constituency with a Gail's bakery in
  19. Seriously, I often wonder if your ears are screwed on wrong
  20. Is there a point to this? They detected the polio virus in London's sewage in 2022
