  1. Make your mind up. You aren't arsed or its a significant moment in our living history Either way, people should have the right to protest it
  2. It absolutely is, its the slippery slope to fascism (and I'm not saying that lightly)
  3. I'd also recommend watching CG-M's interview with a senior police officer on last nights Ch4 news, you could absolutely tell the police officer knew what he was talking about was absolutely wrong legally and morally but he had to say what he said
  4. Lets consider the actions of the Met compared to what would have happened if they'd, you know, done nothing. Do nothing and the whole protest is a mere footnote in the history books and is soon forgotten about Do what they did today and... it'll rumble on and on and on It's now absolutely nailed on that there will be a court case, whether that be because the CPS are idiotic enough to actually prosecute this (They won't be) or a case against the Met for wrongful arrest. If Jolyon Maugham isn't involved somewhere I'll be shocked But this one will probably run and run. I also think Republic may also get a surge in membership and of course the topic of the role of the monarchy / Church of England in the country will be amplified The Tories new protest laws will be tested in court (and probably lose) If you wanted to score a spectacular own goal whilst playing for the establishment, what the Met did today is it
  5. I'm just off out Food shopping and other household purchases. Perfect time in most places to do this but if it wasn't for the Liverpool game I suspect It might be busy in the shops here
  6. Never ever make a post about your democratic rights, you clearly don't want them
  7. Absolutely agree with that but the problem is, that it's a discussion we need to have with ourselves and that discussion needs to be started by political leaders and the current opposition whose membership is broadly on one side of the discussion isn't having that conversation. Leaders need to lead, currently Starmer is at best hiding on the issue and at worst going along with the Tory narrative. I even understand why, it clearly worked in the local elections for Brexity Areas but those more middle class / remainy areas are completely turned off by Labour. And all that is fine if that is what Labour want to do to get into power but on the other hand, its almost a zero sum gain recovering Red Wall seats and not attracting remain types. It's a stagnant position that won't move Labour much further forward than where they are. I'm sure he's done his maths but personally speaking, it's a huge turn off for me. I've seen a good number of comments from people that broadly agree with my sentiments of PR / Rejoiny type thoughts that really aren't going to vote Labour because of those personal red lines
  8. You can get little blue pills for that
  9. The leader of the anti-monarchist Republic movement Graham Smith has been arrested.
  10. 3 for 2 special on roofies, The Randy Andy deal of the day Free H to get you through the day sane
  11. I don't play it often but today it's just the right album to start the day
  12. Gym Rats for the Monarchy is such a bizarre subset of society
  13. So Jota out Alvarez in. Playing Alvarez & Haaland (c) with Wilson on the Bench in position number one because I do fear the rotation and with Grealish in my side too there's a good chance one will not play (I suspect Haaland) My dilemma is who to give the VC to, Alvarez, Rashford, Salah, even a cheeky punt on March or Mac Allister? Standard wisdom says Salah but as much as he got two goals last week, they were both pens and he didn't actually look that involved apart from those pens. I don't see Utd away to the Kit Stealers being a high scoring affair, Alvarez is a punt so it comes down to the Brighton pair I think and even that isn't clear cut, March got rotated in both the games last week and Mac Allister is playing deeper again. Hell I might even put it on Steele except I don't see him getting many saves against the risible toffees, decisions..... Such a mindf*** for the VC armband
  14. .... to somewhere else, the lucky bastards
  15. Was watchingCh4 News before and the absolutely squirming bollocks being spouted by Tories was hilarious. ”I think the Conservative Party will look at this set of results and think hey can win the next General Election” It took a while to stop laughing
  16. East Hertfordshire Council was comprised of 40 Tory / 6 LibDem / 2 Labour / 2 Green (A Tory majority of 30 in a 50 seat council) It has now gone to No Overall Control but the make up is... 19 Green (+17) / 16 Tory (-24) / LibDem 10 (+4) / Labour 5 (+3) 2 elections ago in 2015 The Tories won every single seat, all 50 of them, that is a spectacular turn around
  17. They've taken seats off both Tory and Labour but I suspect, far more from the Tories
  18. Mid Suffolk Update, I make it 20 seats won for the Greens out of 30 declared so far (4 more to go I think) There was even one ward I notice that elected two seats and only had three candidates, 2 Green and 1 Tory, the Tory lost heavily
  19. You really don't want me to start on that too do you?
  20. I believe The Greens now have Mid-Suffolk with 12 results yet to be counted, they've reached 18 seats by my reckoning
  21. No, they really won't have to do that in Scotland. Labour can win a comfortable majority without winning any more Scottish seats than they already hold The idea that Scotland is absolutely necessary for a Labour Victory is nonsense. With a generous vote split far more generous to the Tories and less generous for Labour than current polling of 30% Tory / 40% Lab / 12% LibDem / 6% Reform / 5% Green Labour would get a something like 75 seat majority but only 14 of those seats would be regained from the SNP I'm really not sure where the Labour needs Scotland myth came from (sometime post 1997 iirc) but it has never been very true and it still isn't true today I also happen to think the SNP vote share will drop considerably from the projection above and Labour will gain more than14 seats in Scotland but that is by the by
