  1. They didn't even take away the soil they dug out, the original soil is still there
  2. Well with regards to the fortifications on the beach in Crimea... Ukraine have zero amphibious assault vehicles, let alone enough to attempt a D-Day style landing. The only reason these are here is a coping mechanism for Russians in Crimea, a total waste of concrete The dragons teeth are about as much use as a chocolate Tea Pot, plenty of images of older former Soviet tanks just crushing them by driving over them already, they aren't very well made The artillery at the rear of those positions will not be there when the offensive comes, Ukraine will have used HIMARS or similar to take them out of the game. With the Artillery out of the way the Anti-Tank trench becomes fillable or crossable Most of those defences in front of the trenches
  3. What you should have said was... "It's nice but I think the other two outfits look more professional for an interview" Would I Mr Say It As You See It take my own advice....? not a chance in hell
  4. I wouldn't put it past this lot to attempt to claim 10p off British Beer in British pubs located in Spain
  5. You appear to be missing the point of an ethics advisor. It isn't to advise on ethics. I'll give Sunak some credit here, he isn't that stupid that he doesn't realise that what she's done is wrong. The ethics advisor is a tool to kick things into the long grass and when the eventual bloody obvious outcome is reached, the Ethics Advisor is a human shield to hide behind. This is all about the Tory Civil War and not about pondering whether Sue Ellen did anything wrong, as questions of ethics go, this one is pretty clear cut, either she did as said and should go or she didn't and it's been fabricated. With the amount of journalists that have this story and have for a while, it's fairly obvious they all think the events happened as described and have the corroboration required.
  6. C'mon, be honest. You were trying to save money.
  7. Nah, that isn’t what it is. It’s a delaying tactic to see if it goes away (it won't) and it is also an attempt to distance himself from any decision he may have to make (but doesn’t want to) A decent leader of any political hue with a good solid support in their party would have sacked someone doing this by now. It actually shows how weak he is because he's having to attempt to keep the nutters on board (he's got no chance)
  8. DIdn't captain Haaland, captained Fernandes instead, might still backfire but I do have Alvarez too which has certainly paid off so far. Currently on 39 points with Trippier and WIlson yet to play plus 7 DGWers It's actually possible I might close the 20 point gap on 2nd place in my ML at this stage
  9. Its just the nursery unit he's building for the family he'll ignore most days
  10. Are they? I didn't realise, they were formed from a Unionist basis though iirc
  11. The Beatles - I will be right ... by 2030something
  12. Stick it in Discogs with photos and just sit back and watch the bunfight as their three fans claim its fake (Been there, got the T-shirt)
  13. Only one area really changed. SDLP to SF had been a movement going on since the GFA as they lost their USP, (republican but not paramilitary) Ironically, that’s where he DUP have shed votes to now, the closest Unionist equivalent of the SDLP though the Alliance are more LibDem whereas the SDLP were more Centrist Labour but even that difference sort of makes sense. I'm really not seeing that massive swing in demographics that the headlines seem to want to imply
  14. And Mazinga Phaser were a late Texans Texan Space Rock outfit which leads me to think the same era and style for Tombstone Valentine but that begs the question of the coloured vinyl, which doesn't appear to exist
  15. Is Tombstone Valentine the band name or the album name Or put it another way is it A Late 60s Finnish Prog or B Late 90s Space Rock from Indiana
  16. Nah, 28. The Alliance Party are still Unionists, just much less insane than the others. Protestants have just started voting for the less nutty option
  17. Dub sesh ended and the missus has requested some music to prepare food by AKA something "radio friendly" that she'll know and won't annoy her. 12"/80s/2 it is then - 12" single mixes from the 80s (again I have vol 1 too) It has all the hits Associates, Pigbag, LLoyd Cole, Simple Minds
  18. I see the JRM “gerrymandering” debate is rumbling on with Dawn Btler suggesting the Tories broke the ministerial code AND that the law represents the criminal offence of Misconduct in a Public Office. She may well be right but there’s absolutely no chance of that getting investigated. The whole gerrymandering thing is beginning to piss me off now. The voter ID thing is not bloody gerrymandering, gerrymandering is a very specific thing about the manipulation of election boundaries to gain extra seats etc. The Voter ID thing is Vote Suppression which is an entirely different thing, JRM deliberately used the G word because the normals won’t understand it, it'll wash over them. Had he used the very descriptive and correct term everyone would understand. Trouble is, the media and all those politicians commenting on it keep using the G word, Grrrrrrrrrrrr
  19. The Dub session continues... I used to love these Trojan CD box sets, I've got a fair few of them 50 Tracks over 3 Cds Trojan Dub Box Set Volume 2 (I have Vol 1 too)
  20. A lot of my listening is on CD right now because my turntable is getting bloody noisy (I'm saving for a new one) Anyway I have this in a CD box set. Originally released in 1977. It has a lot of the big names involved in the early Jamaican Dub Scene involved. Sly and Robbie, Tommy McCook, Ansell Collins, Jackie Mittoo, Roland Alphonso, Earl "Chinna" Smith It's essentially the two most prolific Jamaican studio crews of the time coming together to make a Dub album Agrovators meets The Revolutionaries At Channel One Studios Top summer Sunday morning tunage (and Yes it passes the Chris acid test of having an extremely shit cover )

    Memory Lane

I've got a similar job on, except with my Dads photographic slides. I can't go on lugging them around with me if I move, So I've got to reduced the amount I have. Even on a first glace there are slides from an International Eisteddfod in LLangollen which must be from the 50s, so I'm thinking of asking them if they want those for an archive they may have (no idea if they do), some are just awful photographs, they'll be getting binned, some are of family members I was never involved with but have heard of, I'm certainly not in touch with any of those. There will definitely be some of various schools my mother taught in and housing developments in Brum / West Brom etc more stuff possibly for museums.... Huge job
