  1. Now there’s a band that divides opinions… I’ve seriously seen people fall out with others big style over VdGG Im decidedly on the fence
  2. talking of citizenship.... Guardian English mother, lived here 74 years, married to an English man for 44 years... The evidence is all in the public record you dimwits
  3. @Milfnersay something FFS, use the power
  4. That would be an offence under Section 5 (1) of the 1967 Criminal Law Act, concealing evidence legislation.gov.uk which would add a whole new layer of amusement if the Mirror were prosecuted for that
  5. It's not really capable of defending its own borders right now. If China really wanted to take back its disputed territories it could pretty much walk in there with little opposition
  6. Three CD Compilation... Dave Brock presents This Was Your Future, Space Rock (and other psychedelics) 1978 - 1998 Brock compiles an album of Hawkwind and their fellow travelers. Most of the ones I knew about are on here and loads more. Hawkwind, Ozrics, Here and Now, Robert Calvert, Poisoned Electrick Head but Gong conspicuous by their absence
  7. The people in that video, having that conversation absolutely know who took the video and whoever took that video is as guilty as the rest of them, so surely that must come out in any investigation. But it's also possible that the person who passed that video on to the Mirror wasn't the person who took it The reason could be absolutely anything from the above speculated jealousy at some of the others getting gongs, through to someone from Sunak's side doing it to find the excuse to completely dump all of Johnson's honours list ("We're at rock bottom anyway....")
  8. Well yes but then again no. There is a parallel for sure but whilst Georgia and Chechnya are Austria and Czechoslovakia, that makes Ukraine Poland in this situation, where the Allies / West said enough is enough and didn't stand-by. But unlike WW2, the place of Russia in the invasion of Poland is taken by Belarus and this time the Allies / West are by far the more superior equipped but here's the crucial difference. Poland had defensive treaties with France and the UK. The modern equivalent of that would be NATO I guess but Ukraine weren't able to join. And that is crucial because NATO has no reason to put boots on the ground.
  9. Well I didnt see a lead of 7 before play started today, great mopping up of the tail Handily right on lunch too. Lunch talk will about batting, not getting the last wickets and then batting
  10. Letting it get to the care homes in the first place by discharging people from hospital to care homes whilst they had COVID was the real scandal here. Once they'd done that they had to do what you've described as a bad idea, there would be countless thousands more dead people if they hadn't done that
  11. Cried that one in, well done
  12. That really doesn't appear to be the purpose of this conversation at all. You said it didn't exist, now it does. You are just proving everything said previously
  13. I thought it didn't exist, you just disagreed with yourself
  14. No, what you mean is there isn't a doctrine, a philosophy, not that it doesn't exist If it doesn't exist stop attacking it otherwise you are tilting at windmills
  15. And that is the other difficulty with centre ground politics, you get attacked from both extremes and usually with more vigour One side will call it watered down Marxism, the other will call it weak Libertarianism or even not even the weak version
  16. yes that was oddly satisfying Wordle 729 4/6
  17. I opened my Fathers Day card last Sunday because someone told me last Sunday was Fathers Day (by some miracle my Daughter was organised this year, it normally arrives on the Wednesday after)
  18. You've hit the jackpot, Jack, with your new pop cack
  19. I've changed my mind on Mid-Beds, having looked at the percentages, it actually isn't as big a mountain to climb as Tiverton and Honiton nor North Shropshire. In a by-election, with the Tories even lower in the polls with a much deeper crisis its perfectly possible. Comparing those two constituencies 2019 results and Mid-Beds, the starting points are very similar but Mid-Beds is a slightly easier win as long as the Labour vote collapses
  20. Tittle tattle, gossip and the rest just seeps in eventually by some sort of (lack of) intellectual osmosis.
  21. Fans only cool you down in moist air as they increase the evaporation rate by increasing the air speed across your skin and removing your sweat. In dry air, they'll have the opposite effect because you won't be sweating and they'll blow more hot air at you. Dyson is a charlatan, it's just a fan and will only cool you down in moist air like any other fan

    Not African and White?
  23. Its easier to be on the outside than in the middle The more extreme your views at either end of the spectrum the more easily defined your beliefs are. Those at the extremes like things simple, yes the other extreme is the devil but those in the centre are the enemy because being able to see both sides and look for the middle ground without recourse to dogmatic doctrine confuses them They understand the other extreme far more than they understand the centre ground, which is why you often find centrists being labelled as appeasers / collaborators (of the other extreme) Being reasonable is threatening so the extremes will always attack the centre far harder than they'll attack the other extreme.
