  1. I'm not so sure it is that extraordinary. Fairly sure it happened in the run up to 1997 and I'm also fairly sure Tories in opposition that didn't get elected have also done it. It only seems extraordinary because the entire country knows the government is going to change when the Tories call the next election. But Labour's response really should have been that the whole announcement was a con job as it would either make no difference at all or was never going to happen in the first place. Announcing that you're going to waste time reversing something that won't make any difference is pointless and in a way reinforces those people who it was aimed at to vote Tory. Pointing out that the whole things was utter bollocks and wouldn't make a jot of difference would have been the better approach
  2. Wordle 824 3/6 That could have gone sideways
  3. He obviously did because there was a suggestion that he’d known the person since he was eleven iirc and there was a suggestion that he was groomed, which is again hard to prove if the key witness is uncooperative
  4. First press in that condition with gatefold sleeve is worth a decent amount (about £45). I have one. Great album
  5. Point of fact:No he didn't, he's still being paid by the BBC I think
  6. It is a load of bollocks, it designed to dupe some people into voting Tory, problem is, the people it will appeal to are the people who are still voting Tory anyway. (I agree with your assessment btw)
  7. I think there was a survey out in the last few days that claimed that 90% of the population, including 65% of Tory voters wanted a "new leadership for the country" Only caught it as a fleeting thing, don't know it's provenance but it seemed to ring true
  8. apart from the alleged non-consensual sexual assault, absolutely nothing
  9. This is just an attempt to create a 2024 tax giveaway because reducing the tax burden on families will make them look good and Labour bad when they are forced to put tax up again
  10. He's about as funny as getting genital warts
  11. As a defence of Russell Brand this has huge amounts of irony
  12. There's absolutely nothing wrong with HS2, it's the decision making flip flops that is the fault If HS2 doesn't go to central London and Manchester its absolutely pointless
  13. Yep that was yesterday's. Seems to be happening with much greater frequency now
  14. You think global manufacturers set their manufacturing targets to UK demand? All this does is make the UK a dumping ground for unsold cars towards 2030
  15. No these are training / routine flights with mechanical failures, yesterdays was the landing gear not lowering, pilots ejected safely (according to Russian press)
  16. Yep, pretty much all the mains in that deal are now a tenner, maybe some are £9:50
  17. There seem to be an increasing number of reports about Russian military aircraft crashing, not in combat, just crashing. An Su-34 crashed yesterday, there were a couple last week too I think. Getting in Russian military aircraft might just be getting more dangerous due to poor maintenance
  18. Nah thats a different deal, they did away with the free wine one ages ago. The Gastro one is permanent and replaced it. Its just Main, Side & starter or desert. Say we wanted the Paella, it used to be £7 and then went up to £8, now when they introduced this deal they pushed it up to a tenner,to encourage you to buy the deal of the other two items but often the sides are wholly inappropriate for the mains so you not only get encourage to buy stuff you don't really want or pay a highly inflated price for the bit you do want. If you still do the deal you say end up buying something else to go with the side you bought Not playing that game, I just don't bother buying the Paella or whatever else it is that I wanted
  19. M&S offers are now silly They used to do a curry one every now and again. Two mains and two sides for a tenner, it worked out that you got one of the sides free essentially and possibly a bit off the other Now it's £15 and you save about a £1 on the whole thing, it's barely a deal any more and unless you really are buying 2 & 2 isn't worth it at all The Gastropub deal is £12 but they almost encourage you to have the deal because they've pushed the price of the mains up to the £10 mark so it's almost pointless not having the deal Very odd strategy and they can both eff off
  20. Increased delays in using single hub as opposed to multihub, further for couriers to deliver, lower customer satisfaction, removes income from existing franchisees Makes absolutely no sense to me
  21. Not sure why they'd do that, it would be less profitable and would cause congestion in the delivery queue. Then with all the deliveries being diverted to a central hub, it would remove the delivey trade from a good number of sites. You have to remember that McD is a franchise based business and they'd be taking a good deal of business away from the franchisees.
  22. Currently, there's zero chance of him going to prison
