There is no point wasting parliamentary time to reverse something that will have absolutely no effect on anything. The entire announcement is a con job. Changing the date to 2035 isn't going to mean anything to the automotive trade, as they said yesterday, they are all sticking to their plans, it's the same with Gas boilers. The rest of the announcement was stuff that was never ever going to happen, ever.
Labour should be highlighting that and not saying they'll reverse it. Saying you'll reverse it entrenches opinions of those the fake policy was aimed at. Calling it out for what it is, saying there's no point reversing it because it'll have no effect anyway is the much better option at least the throbbers might think and you haven't put another barrier in the way of people voting Labour.
Labour have fallen for a trap that wasn't even set. Labour's reaction was a kneejerk to say the opposite, when they really should just have called it out as bollocks
