  1. You’re claiming they only wanted “the east”, this is absolutely nonsense. Half of their main thrust came through Belarus to take Kyiv and the entire country. They failed in this task chiefly because of hilariously bad Russian military problems
  2. This is obviously not true, they were literally on the outskirts of Kyiv in no time at all, had all kinds of plants in national and local government ready to take control of the entire country
  3. There’s another version of this map out there sonewhere where the lighthouses are all animated to represent their actual individual light signals. I’ve tried to locate it but alas cannot find it but I did find this https://geodienst.github.io/lighthousemap/ Which attempts the same thing but isn’t the one I was thinking of
  4. It's blindingly obvious to me. I'm just a crackpot amateur though
  5. There will be other laws that come into play but you could always set yourself up as a water company, they can dump shit anywhere
  6. Yeah I played that a bit when I had the gratis 4 months of NYT games that ran out the other week. I just discovered it took up too much of my day
  7. Or are they Radio masts? Looking at them it could easily be Winter Hill and Droitwich
  8. Disappointing on recent form Wordle 831 4/6
  9. Is he still trying to fill his left wing political party bingo card? And does he shout Lenin, Stalin or Trotsky when he completes a line? In his time he’s been in the WRP, the SWP, Labour, TUSC, Respect, started a fund to found a new left wing party presumably because he’d left all the others… and he only joined the Labour Party in the first place to criticise the leadership. Like anyone cares what Ken Loach thinks about Labour, he only really cared about Labour when Corbyn was leader which given he’s been active in politics since the early 60s isn’t exactly a long time
  10. I even use brioche buns for bacon rolls. Bun, bacon, tomato sauce, noice
  11. I can’t help it if you mean one thing and type something completely different Also that isn’t particularly true. You can have that information once and wait up to a month to get it. Ask a second time for the same or a similar thing and you run the risk of the company dealing with the request considering it to be manifestly excessive and could deny you on that basis.
  12. That bit isn’t true at all. They must have obtained the data they hold for a legitimate purpose and keep it on file for a proportionate time in relation to the reason they hold it. You have a right to correct any false information and in certain circumstances have a right to be forgotten i.e. they no longer hold the data. But in your example of being banned as a customer, they can keep that on file for as long as it’s necessary to not want you as a customer and it would also be legitimate for them to decline the right to be forgotten. You can also add that to the list of things the EU did for you Edit: Also you don’t have to ask in writing, they must recognise any request including verbally
  13. Just been shopping with the missus on the way home from work and bumped into an old mate, who I did see very briefly last week at a funeral. Turns out he lives a couple of streets away from me. That’s the second old mate I’ve bumped into in the last couple of weeks that now lives really close to me. It turns out that the neighbourhood is full of 80's Indie musicians I might be about to get a more active social life that doesn’t involve £20 in cabs before I’ve had a drink
  14. Oh well, I must remember to forget that
  15. They closed his accounts initially because he fell under their wealth threshold and they weren't prepared to make a special case for him because of his politics. They've now made a special case of him and he still has his accounts with them. So its not quite as you paint it. They closed them early because he paid off his mortgage earlier and immediately fell below the threshold The grifter is getting special treatment because of his rabble rousing.
  16. Well yes, there are various treaties we're signed up to that comprise International Law, including the Council of Europe etc (For the much talked about ECHR) and the ultimate court in those laws isn't in the UK, so yes we've adopted those laws but the ultimate arbiter of decisions based on those laws is not in the UK, so whilt they may be UK law as well, they aren't ours and we don't have final say on them, so I'd say, ultimately they weren't ours as such
  17. Who is having a philosophical debate? The rest of us are talking about the law and facts. Political ideology is not a protected characteristic, so to compare it to something that is would be an absolute false equivalence
  18. You think they changed all the toilets as soon as the wall fell? We must remove the scourge of the communist shelf!
