  1. Not so sure. I'd say it's on the edges of possibility, especially in a by-election but would need disciplined tactical voting and a high turnout
  2. I had a look at that Rolling Stone 250 top guitarists list and gave up when I saw Brittany Howard was one place below Robby Krieger Brittany Howard has released 2 Alabama Shakes albums and possibly a solo one, it’s her voice that sells them not her fret work
  3. Gwenno's sister, the last to join The Pipettes, Ani Glass is the closest to pop music I guess but again like her sister, it's Welsh Language. Their father is renowned poet, journalist and literary historian of Cornish descent but lives in Wales and writes in Cornish, Welsh, Irish Gaelic and Breton Rose Elinor Dougall has a solo career and also works with Mark Ronson Julia Clarke-Lowes is in indie band The Indelicates who are at least 6 albums into their career and.. Rachel Stephen’s has had a few solo projects but is probably best know for being a backing singer for Jesica Hoop
  4. Really unusual thing about The Pipettes. Every single member of the group of over their time as an entity (all 5 of them) produces much better music in their endeavours since Not one of them is really making pop records either.
  5. Not really, they don’t pay attention and will continue to not pay attention until something directly affects them.
  6. Orange lodge marches are still legal.
  7. They'll be throbby for much longer than a year and it’s hard to see them getting out of that cycle as the party members are increasingly electing more throbby candidates. The grass roots are at an all time low membership level and they too are increasingly throbby, geriatric and stubborn. By the time they get less throbby, they aren’t likely to have much of a pulse. The Party will be Braverman, Patel, Badenoch, Gove, Truss and a whole bunch of Uber-safe seat talentless nobodies. A huge chunk of the already talentless cabinet will be gone. It’s going to take an awfully long time to rebuild. If they split, it’s highly likely the throbbers will be tempted to merge with the likes of Reform and the more centrist ones will have no grassroots, they might as well realign with the LibDems, who ideologically they will be much closer to than the rest of their party. I really don’t see how the current party actually unites along more “sensible” policy lines.
  8. What do you mean A book, there's bloody three of them. How the f*** he managed to write three books in his state whilst walking round the garden is what amazes me
  9. Day off, I took it off to clean the patio/courtyard. It’s pissing it down so I can't do it. Oh well Listening to albums, sitting on the sofa and reading / internet it is then. No one else in the flat, volume up Bacon sarnie (obvs no butter) made and eaten, coffee on the go, lunch decided upon (tempura batter chicken strips and sriracha mayo on a bread baton from the local artisan bakery… snacks aplenty… And the missus wonders why I don’t take the same days off as her!
  10. Why are you keeping condiments like ketchup and mint sauce in the fridge? They are so full of preservatives they'll survive a nuclear explosion Do you keep vinegar in the fridge? Would you keep pickled onions in the fridge? Mint sauce is just pickled mint.
  11. I just don’t see a path for them to recover, they have further falling to go yet but by the second election cycle ahead there won’t be much between them and the LibDems. Even business hates the “Party of Business” these days. They aren’t even trusted on the economy and crime by anyone.
  12. You can buy nitrite free bacon, there’s a brand called Naked that should be fairly easy to get hold of and supermarket own brands are starting to appear too
  13. Well, I think they'll exist but they may well be swapping places with the LibDems, who I expect to become the official opposition at some point when Labour are in power in the next 10-15 years. As an electoral force, I'm convinced they are done From the current position of huge swathes of the electorate not trusting them, they'll have to end the civil war and the only way that happens is if one side wins (it'll be the throbbers). Meanwhile the rest of the country will have moved on and their current target demographic will by and large be dead to be replaced with people who rarely vote Tory ever. Oh and just wait until Farage is on board after the next election They are absolutely toast
  14. There weren’t versions until Waters released that Redux thing the other week I think the 50th anniversary version is just your standard DSOTM remastered (again!!!) its a cash it. I suspect the Waters Redux is just him trying to take the shine off the other release and claim it was all him all along whilst continuing the long running feud he has with his former band mates, a band he decided to leave
  15. I.m no hater of PF, I have a copy of pretty much everything up to The Wall (apart from maybe relics.) Easy Stars All Stars I can take or leave tbh, it's ok but it's a bit too cartoony for my liking
  16. Well someone has to save people from the tyranny of Qu**n
  17. If that’s the new version, as in the one that Waters has completely re-recorded? it is utterly shit. Waters lost the plot a long time ago but now he’s completely away with fairies and that’s before you bring his politics into it. But my god, that new version is mind bendingly awful. It’s like he’s trying to erase the rest of the band from the album to prove DSOTM was all him…. If that was his intention, he’s proved the opposite
  18. Retaliation for rockets fired at Israel from Syria earlier in the week I presume
  19. This is what its like to eat a tree (without butter)
  20. Wordle 845 4/6 .... before me as it should be @tonyh29
  21. I won that competition in VIth form Did wonders for the sale of flumps from the tuck shop
